HELP! Need to pick paint color by 7am for Master Bath!!!!
Comments (10)Thx everyone!! :) I am so under gun...I thought I would have another week to decide but the contractors want to start painting tomorrow BEFORE the cabinets go in. I decided to go with the darker shade in the pics....the Stratton Blue. I agree that the colors are not showing up well on the monitor. After the job is done, if I truly don't like it, I will take my time and try to consider a brownish gold tone like in the suggestions above. Part of me really wanted a spa-like calming blue which is why I am trying to work off the Palladian Blue card. olychick - I love that picture of the room with the palladian blue ceiling. I never even considered doing something like that and I really would love to know what the color is on those walls! That is really a gorgeous beautiful room! Soooooo if I hate the Stratton after it is all up and done, I will re-paint.......See Morehelp! Pics att'ched. Need paint for Master Bath - photoshop??
Comments (19)Thank you oh so much for your help. I think I have seen ever color I ever liked and you are so correct they look different under certain lights, monitors, etc. I see what you mean about choosing the undertone and sticking with that. THANK YOU! BM does offer a service - use to be free now they charge 15.00. I liked it better free b/c I think they did a better job!! You upload your pics to them and they send you 2 possible palettes - in my case 3 - and they pick all colors for you. Their first choice was FIELDSTONE for me which according to my swatch goes khaki (they send swatches..). Their second choice was Capallano Bridge which I do love but don't think it goes so great wtih the carera marble. Last choice was Shaker Grey which is REALLY deep but I actually do like it. Definately not khaki!! :) Thanks a million for your help. Painter comes on Monday. I will let you know how it goes! THANKS! Melissa...See MoreI bought the paint for MB, but need color for master bath
Comments (4)my3dogs - I remember seeing your bathroom in an earlier thread. Very nice. Now that I see the name "Cecelia", it sounds familiar. I think we do have the same granite. Your tile is a bit darker than mine. When we picked our granite and tile it was based on a 6" sample that had only bits of the dark color in it. We picked the tile to coordinate with the sample. I like the granite slab that we got, but I wish I could have selected the tile by comparing it to the actual slab (I would have gone darker with the tile). That is where I keep getting confused with the color. Since I don't think the tile and the granite work well together, I can't find a paint color to complement both. I do love color, but I'm tempted to just paint the bathroom a neutral cream/beige/off whited/etc... Or maybe something like rust. The cabinets are dark and the granite has slight grey/blue tones, in addition to the rust and creamy colors. That is where I got the grey/blue idea. There are deep purple specks in it too. I just finished painting our 1/2 bath SW plum brown to pick up on those colors. Here are some more pictures of the bathroom. The tile and granite actually look a lot better together in these pictures than they do in real life. I hope you're able to see what I am describing. It is hard to capture the true color of the granite, but I think the first picture is the best. As you can see, I haven't done a thing to it yet! The light fixture will be replaced and I want to frame the mirror after painting. Comments (8)The vanity was installed today and we have definitely decided to go with the wavy one. It looks much better color wise and looks more elegant. As far as the width, because of the window placement, and the 24" tile, the most space we have is 6". I know that is less than what most think we should use but we had a narrower listello in there and it was ok. If we went 10-12", then we would have to adjust the layout of the tile. I think it will work with 6", we will see. I am very happy with the granite and threshold. Both have movement in them and the fabricator worked with me to get the best use of the movement area. Hubs starts laying floor tile tomorrow....See Morebsluvcs
