I would go with a light gray as my first choice. The blue tile kinda ties your hands a lil with a color that would also go well with the tile & vanity top.

I'd take a couple of pieces of tile with me to the paint store and ask them to help pull out a color. I wouldn't try to use paint to pull up the color of the floor since you can do that with accessories.

I assume you're leaving the beadboard white?

Depends on your lighting and location, but a dark gray could look stunning!

Never envisioned myself saying that but that could be. I salvaged the floor (i.e did not remodel is - the only thing left standing from the original bathroom)...Long story but the vanity that tied the floor to the room blew up in the back of a truck. SO had to order a vanity last minute - went with white, etc. so now I have one BIG blue thing in the room - the floor!!!! Ok grey is where I am leaning...Anyone have a specific paint color in a soft grey they like? Thanks for sharing your bathroom photo - lovely! really like the floor!!!

I hope you don't hate me for saying this....but would it be possible to redo the floor either now or a lil down the road? If you could that dark blue-gray would look so much better, but the light blue tile will just stand out more cause its so brilliant in color.

I am with you on the tile...I actually really really liked it in my old bathroom but I concur it is just not clicking here. My only saving grace is the beadboard goes 4 feet up the wall and any color that hits the beadboard is 4 feet of seperation from the floor. NOT out of the question to redo in the future but I can't even deal wtih thinking of it now!!!LOL!

Well I think that the darker gray-blue looks good & would be better than a lighter gray. & with the bead board separating the 2 it will look fine. I know how budgets work & it seems like there would be a fair amount of tile to rip out now that everything else is done. I would just paint & live with it for a while & see how ya feel down the road.

Tricky bath to work with ;) I have one just like it (darn tile colors that get in the way).

I did some quick doodles for you, using Lowe's, BM (Ben Moore) and PPG (Pittsburgh) software. I named the manufacturer + colors, but usual disclaimer, they aren't exact to real life, best to find a virtual you like and let that lead you to a real life swatch. Grays, blues, gray>blues are all that worked. Anything else didn't seem to fly well. I did a couple "true" grays on the cool side, BM Stone & Stormy Monday so you could see what happens to the room. Work fine with vanity but don't seem to have enough blue undertones to mesh with the floor tile. Just my humble .02 ;)

Here are a couple, the rest are at an album I made for you below. If there's something you want to see, let me know. I ran through most of the color spectrum though, and these are what came out looking best all elements considered.

Thanks a million for your help Moonshadow! I sent away to BM for a final color analysis and this is what they selected. FIELDSTONE for the walls and MARITIME WHITE for the beadboard. sEcond selection was SHAKER GRAY for WALLS and SWISS COFFEE for beadboard. LAST request, I promise! Could you photoshop this up?

Just wanted you to know I saw your post, I'll try to get those colors done for you in the morning. I'm curious, how did BM give you a color analysis? By a photo of the room? That's a new one to me. Wasn't aware they did that.

OK, you're requests are uploaded. However, these do not match real life swatches. (Virtuals never do, best to use as a guide for what colors/undertones work/don't work and find real life matches).

I do not have Fieldstone or Shaker swatches, so I can't tell how far off the "virtual" is from the "real".

I do have Stonington and Coventry swatches. I would label those two as pure grays with perhaps a hint of blue undertone. Both virtuals are rendering heavy on green undertones on my monitor. So I tweaked them. At your album you'll see #1 and #2 behind Stonington & Coventry. #1 is straight from BM software. #2 is a color I chose that more closely matches the actual paint swatches I have in my hand ;) .

Thank you oh so much for your help. I think I have seen ever color I ever liked and you are so correct they look different under certain lights, monitors, etc. I see what you mean about choosing the undertone and sticking with that. THANK YOU! BM does offer a service - use to be free now they charge 15.00. I liked it better free b/c I think they did a better job!! You upload your pics to them and they send you 2 possible palettes - in my case 3 - and they pick all colors for you. Their first choice was FIELDSTONE for me which according to my swatch goes khaki (they send swatches..). Their second choice was Capallano Bridge which I do love but don't think it goes so great wtih the carera marble. Last choice was Shaker Grey which is REALLY deep but I actually do like it.
