Since you said "maybe the tub," I would rip out the entire tub enclosure and not replace. Have double sink vanity go the width of the wall that it is currently against. Put a small chest with drawers to the right of toilet (for storage; extra TP, etc). Replace the unframed mirror with a framed mirror over each sink. Each mirror could have fixture above, but I like sconces better. Could do three double sconces.

As far as the sink, I prefer undermount. The Kohler Claxton is a nice one and isn't expensive. Whatever the style of your home, I would bring that into the bathroom in the lighting and plumbing fixtures, hardware and accessories.

I should clarify for others....
I cannot replace the tub or any of the tile. I will replace the faucets for the sink and maybe the tub faucets, but not the shower faucets.

The white tile is very neutral - so virtually a blank slate.
What type of design or feeling do you want to achieve?

You have a lovely master but I think the wall color has too much contrast to the white and makes the white colder looking so I would go toward a warm neutral color in the tan shades. If you used a tan similar to the wood pieces in the vanity, then you could keep the vanity and spend the money on two brushed nickel oval mirrors to define the two sinks. To soften the look of the shower area, I would put a shower rod and curtain in that area and then use the same color tones for accessories. I'd keep them all in a similar tone to the walls, Just use a shade up or down on the color strip for inspiration. Then add complimentary color towels in a huge basket on the flat landing of the tub, take away the two formal pictures and put one larger less formal one I'd get a soft nubby textured valence to pick up the shower curtain colors.
If you don't feel like painting then I feel you need more soft textures in the room to make it feel warm and fuzzy. I like the tub area, it just needs some larger items and more texture. Just my opinions lol, I'm sure others will have good suggestions too.

Karezz, personally the only things I would worry about is definitely changing out the vanity, sink and tub faucets, the ceramic switchplate covers and prints in frames which date your bathroom. Add a shower curtain that will coordinate with valance if you plan to keep it and new accessories. Two separate mirrors above the sinks would look nice. If that is not in the budget just frame the existing. Your light fixture is very pretty but I don't think it will look right with 2 mirrors. I like the wall color, were you thinking about changing that as well? If so,what color? I do like the rug in there, that would be a keeper. Did you see Renofan's guestbath redo? Very inspirational. Have fun with it.

The vanity is very dated. I would definitely replace it with a more update vanity in a furniture like style.

I still suggest the Kohler Caxton undermount sinks and two individual framed mirrors.

A local slab yard could have a granite remnant you could use.

Faucets in Brushed Nickel.

A tall cabinet with doors and/or shelves sitting on the tile area to the right of toilet for extra storage/display. You could even place a tall, wire item to the left of the vanity area on tile for open towel storage. A corner piece would be better than one flat against the vanity wall.

Single piece of large artwork over toilet.

Window treatments - an update valance.

Shower - curtain to hide doors in same or coordinating window fabric.

I think a new furniture style vanity would be beautiful..

You are so lucky you have a nice large space to work with.. and a neutral colored tile. (If it is white, even better.. mine is BISQUIT.. which I never really cared for.. much prefer white. But that is just me.)

If your toilet is still good, save the $$ and use it for one or two pretty framed mirrors, and the new faucets.

You have some great advice above, regarding the final touches.

I think the tile is just fine -- it looks like it's in good shape. You're right not to go to the expense of replacing it. Do something with the vanity and mirror and light. You can have a frame made for the mirror that will match or coordinate with a new vanity. I think the wall paint is ok. It wouldn't be my preference for color, but it looks like it's in good shape and many coordinating colors can be used with it. I would not do shower curtains to disguise the shower doors. If it's in your budget, upgrade the shower doors. Change out the hardware in the shower and vanity. I also think the pleated shades are dated and I don't care for valances without side panels. New window treatments would go a long way in your bath. You have a great bathroom that looks like it's a good basic structure to update without a huge expense. Have fun with it!

Wow! Lots of great advice to ponder. Here's what I am thinking so far:

** new vanity - a medium color wood - cherry with a burnished glaze - same standard 60" size

** 2 mirrors above sinks, new brushed nickel light fixtures above each

** granite counter (still working on color to tie into white tile) with 2 undermount white sinks

** new toilets

Not sure about and would love more input on:

** paint color - this gold is not a great color, but it's fairly new and matches the master bedroom. How about painting a wall or the ceiling brown?

** blinds - what kind??? I have no clue!

** window treatments - what kind?? This is a very hard to fit bay-style window

** change shower doors - would LOVE to, but not sure it's in the budget.

** tile is all white and in good condition, so there's no changing that.

** those pictures are really outdated? I didn't realize...that's why this message board is so great!

if you have ceiling moulding, you could easily paint the ceiling a contrast or a variation of the gold. I'm not so sure about brown, however. But something unexpected would be fun maybe a lighter color from your rug (or from your new rug). My advice would be to do the fixtures and vanity and all the things your sure of than tackle the window treatment. We have dark woven wood shades in our bathroom. The vanities are medium cherry. There are white tiles like yours --everywhere! and white wood trim. I still haven't added any fabric treatment. We like it the way it is for now, anyway. I've never cared for a lot of pouf and drape on bathroom windows.

Have you thought about adding a little more interest to the tiles?

White tiles were standard in our Masterbath when our house was built. We did not think the builder upgrades where worth his asking price. We just added a border of 1x1 glass tiles.

I suggested a curtain to hide the shower door since she said she was on a budget. I would only replace with a frameless shower door and they are expensive., so I didn't suggest that.

Would you consider shutters for your windows? We put a pair in a bathroom, last house, purchased through the paint store. Home Depot, Lowe's, just about everyone sells them now. Large slats - maybe 3". We kept the shutters closed all the time but could open the slats to let in light, see out, etc. That would be my first choice.

I would not do a brown ceiling. Since ceilings normally look darker than the walls when painted the same color, so a variation of the wall color would be good.
