Anyone have a Kraus, Pegasus, or Vigo Faucet? Feedback requested.
Comments (3)We have the Kraus faucet KPF-1602, which is the "pre-rinse" style or "professional" style faucet. It's not the style you are looking for, but you said you wanted opinions on the brand nevertheless. We love it! Initially we looked at this pre-rinse/professional style of faucet by Franke, KWC, Hansgrohe, etc., and they were all in the neighborhood of $1000+. We couldn't believe the price of the Kraus by comparison, but decided to take a chance. We have now had the Kraus faucet in place for 5 months, and it has performed beautifully. It arrived packed very well, including a flannel cover, and weighed a lot; a very solid faucet. In fact, we actually like it better than the high-end brands we saw in the showrooms. Lots of water pressure, and its appearance has wow factor. The only negative I can think of is that the installation instructions were very poorly written, and the parts diagram was confusing. Yet, DH and I installed it ourselves, and figured it out. I think the installation took us 45 minutes, and that is with the confusing instructions and we are non-plumbers. A plumber should have no problem. I'll link the site we bought ours, which has a 5% off deal which made it the least expensive site we found for Kraus. I know Overstock sells the Kraus faucets too. Comments (30)Sorry I hadn't responded in a day or so. My wife and I have been busy discussing changes to this kitchen! My wife is reluctant to give up that 6th bar stool, but we're both willing to make changes to our kitchen to make it right. buehl, Thank you very much for taking time to sketch out some options for us. Very helpful. I would love to get your thoughts on the picture below. It's basically a flipped version of your layout while maintaining the same size of the shell of the kitchen. I flipped your layout because we are trying to have an open feel for the kitchen and want to minimize the U shape. I think this new design maintains many of the advantages of the layouts you proposed, but now that we still need help arranging the different types/sizes of cabinets within our space. laughable and others, We will rethink the trough sink. I like the sink that laughable mentioned and will be looking for something like that. We would love to get some opinions on this design. Sorry for some of the chicken scratchings on the paper. My son got ahold of it and I wasn't able to erase everything. We appreciate all of your help thus far....See MoreModern farmhouse/barn plan - feedback request
Comments (6)Will you be living upstairs or downstairs? If upstairs why would you want your laundry room downstairs? Lots of shlepping. Especially since you have such a large master closet. I ask because your downstairs guest bedroom looks like it could be a master bath. would guests need a closed toilet or two sinks or a walk in closet? I think one sink with extra storage would be more appreciated, especially when you consider guests need space to store temporary things and hate the idea of putting them in "your" drawers. The toilet in the master bath is quite a haul in the middle of the night. Maybe not now, but as you age it might become more of a haul. LOL. Also if you're planning on living there for the next 25+ years, I'd think a bit more about it being able to be converted to being ADA compliant. Is there a place you can add in an elevator if it's ever needed? Your bathrooms would be quite difficult to get into and out of. Would you be able to use the powder room if you needed a wheelchair or walker? The kitchen needs help. I would suggest posting in the kitchen forum and let the guru's there help you design an efficient kitchen. This isn't quite it. The upstairs guest bedroom is a bit oddly configured. Have you tried putting furniture in the room? In the upstairs guest bath, there isn't enough room between the toilet and the wall, and it will be quite a tight squeeze to get to the shower. What is the point of the 6'6" loft area? It's too small for much of anything but looking down. Frankly, I think that extra guest bedroom/bathroom/loft area needs work. Love the his and hers drop zones. :) Wish I had thought of that....See MoreKitchen design feedback requested
Comments (5)Very nice layout--if not for the narrower-than-minimum recommended aisles. Maybe since it's just two of you they will work, depending on your cooking style. I don't mind having the sink and cooktop in line, as you will be spending more time prepping to the left of the sink, than rinsing items in front of it. If you want to ease the aisles around the island, you might consider a corner sink. I know a corner sink wastes space, but I think they are nice with corner windows as you have them. Is that the location of the existing sink? You would need to add another stub wall to match the one beside the pantry, in order to accommodate the DW. I made it full-height, with space for dish storage in an upper cabinet, but it could be a pony wall or just a mini-peninsula, which would also be convenient for serving to the dining table. That would put the fridge and sink a step over the NKBA max distance of 9' apart. The minimum depth for the island should be barely over 40", IMO--24" cabs, 15" seating overhang, cabinet skin for back cover, and 1" front overhang....See MoreProw Fixtures
