celestina89 Thanks for the input, however, I was not concerned with fires. In my opinion, fires are created by negligence, usually - and that is equal with electric or gas. My comment stated "FUMES" and "HEALTH ISSUES" not fires, and my concern, still is fumes. As in what one inhales.

@SouthernBelle: Well, you will have fumes if you turn a burner on and blow out the flame. You will have fumes if you have a leak in a gas valve and don't keep up with the maintenance and/or inspections. And if you have fumes, depending on the type of gas - propane or natural, there are various signs such as headaches, nausea, eye/throat problems, tiredness, nausea or breathing problems. Andy of those can occur if there is a natural gas leak. As to propane, yes, it is colorless and odorless that can turn into liquid under very cold temps. You can get propane poisoning if you breath in or swallow propane. Touching liquid propane means frostbite. It's not easy to poison oneself unless it is on purpose due to the many safety mechanisms and the person doesn't open windows or use a stove vent and they are in a relatively small space. However, if it does happen, move person to fresh air and call 911.

If you want more info about either type of gas for residential usage, just use your browser for each individual gas.

celestina89 Thanks for the information, however, I've been aware of ALL these things for some time now, hence my concerns.
