Shower faucet system

Hi. I am in the process of remodeling the primary bathroom and I'm looking for a dual shower system. I was looking at the below product but there are not many reviews on it. Would appreciate your input on dual shower systems that you have experienced with and your likes and dislikes.

I would go to an actual plumbing supply store. Tell them what functions, finish, and budget and they will assemble you a system. You could do that in any brand from moen on up. I’ve never sold signature hardware so can’t comment on it.

I'm not even clear what "Signature Hardware" is. My impression from their website is that they are not a manufacturer.

To echo the post above, I'd suggest that "the stuff behind the wall" -- that would be very expensive to replace because you can't do it without a complete re-do of the shower -- should be a company with a well-known reputation.

Don't get too enamored with complex multi-head shower systems. Simple can be good.

I like the functional clarity of the Grohe control valve - I think it looks good also. Others can comment on the quality and such. This is an example of a 3 outlet thermostatic valve - but it's not the only configuration. Like most of these - it uses a common base with various trim / finishes to match your style.

First and foremost, the rough in plumbing for your shower should be in an interior wall, that worst case, you can open up from the other side (drywall is cheap). So if you have repair issues in the future, you rip open the drywall, fix your plumbing, and then do some drywall repair. Best is if it backs a closet in an adjacent room. If we're talking about soldered copper plumbing, the chances of it developing a leak after you've done the work and tested the joints is pretty slim. So whether you have jets all over the place or not, the only difference is the number of soldered joints inside the walls. A surface mounted shower 'wall' is of course pretty versatile, but you're stuck with it. If something goes wrong, you need another shower wall that matches the roughed in hot/cold supply from the wall. I've never looked at them so I don't know how common/universal the rough-in requirements are. So I don't know if you can simply pull one off and replace it with a new one. Also keep in mind all those extra jets need more water supply, which might require bigger pipes.

I've just purchased two Hansgrohe showerheads, one from their regular line and one from their Axor line. They have a bunch that are contemporary styles which would go well with that faucet. Are you sure you don't want one showerhead to be a rainshower, though? It only needs to be about 6" down from the ceiling, so unless your husband is more than 7'2", it could work for him, along with a handheld on a bar you can adjust up and down. We purchased the Axor Downpour 10" rainshower head, which I think is beautiful in its simple, clean, polished lines, a Hansgrohe Raindance S 150 Air as the handshower, and the Unica S wallbar. -- Eric

I have the same Hansgrohe control, it’s great and so shiny! I have a Moen rainhead, and a Brizo tub filler. It all goes great, as long as you stick with chrome you can’t really go wrong.

FYI, if you are in CA you can not operate more than one shower fixture at a time. You will need a diverter to direct water to one fixture or the other.
