I am sure I speak for many people on these forums, when I say how much I appreciate Annie's daily posts and contributions.
Since she is not going to be hiking for a bit, I thought it might be nice to have a lighthearted get well thread for her.
I think this might be true and it certainly can't hurt!

Comments (26)I completely agree with you Katy, and that's why in my initial post I asked for reactions without posting my own. My first reaction was sadness. I wondered whether this was the first home "the neighbor" had owned, and whether he hadn't a clue about how to proceed. I saw that he many attempts to make the house "his" and none of them turned out very well. My reaction to him standing on the trunk of his car, putting up the flag with his son, was "look, a dad doing something with his son" and that maybe he didn't have a 12 foot ladder. Finally, I wondered how he bought the house, and whether he was among all those folks who were given mortgages they couldn't afford. However, note that it is not a new post, and that thought might be irrelevant. Still, if the thread were a comic strip and the homeowner was who....Dagwood or Fibber McGee or Plugger, the pictures would be funny. But since I'm a sucker for people who try and fall short, and it isn't my neighbor and I don't have the time to spy, trespass and take pictures and post them the whole thing left me feeling queasy. Alright, I now admit I'm a bleeding heart liberal. But suddenly, that may be a bit more acceptable nowadays!...See More@ Annie D
Comments (10)Hmm, I remembered this thread because I have made this many years ago, but used a candied pecan on top. Annie may have her own method, but I also bought what I remember as Turkish apricots that were much more moist than the pieces of leather you sometimes find in the bulk dried fruit area. CelticMoon...if you check the "Read Me" thread you'll notice that I added the gel stain instructions. On an off we have receive quite a few requests for it, so I thought I'd add it. There's light at the end of the tunnel, one of our GWers asked about setting up a FAQ and iVillage said to check back with them in March...so keep your fingers crossed! (I wonder why no one ever responds to my questions/comments? I've asked at least 2x before and had other questions as well...but I don't think I've ever received a reply...the only time I heard from them was when I got my hands slapped for starting an off-topic post on Discussions!)...See More
