Great idea.

My worst nightmare.

My kids were like Geckos - they could climb up glass. Giving them inviting handholds would be like a revolving door to the doctors waiting room. And having something around that could only be used when supervised or roped would be like taking a piggy bank to a kleptomaniac convention - extreme and uncontrollable temptation.

And just think how hard it would be to manage the grubby hand print tide line!!

And I suspect it would be like presents at Christmas - take out the toy and play with the cardboard box. Banisters, trees, verandas, next door's shed, telephone boxes would all be way more attractive to climb for my sprogs anyway.

Yep brilliant idea though and way better than Nintendo Game Boy Stations.

The information pertaining to plywood walls is...inaccurate. You need structural ply with no knots or voids of NO less than 17 mm in thickness. The frame must be able to support the weight of the wall and the kinetic forces associated with body mass moving dynamically across the wall. Check out this article for more accurate info https://www.rei.com/blog/climb/build-home-climbing-wall
