Hah! Yup that was my house alright...that was my landscaper out mowing today...also known as DH.

You should've stopped and introduced yourselves...he's certainly heard enough about you and the beach house saga and vacations and fab swim parties...I feel like we already know you. Would love to meet you IRL.

We actually get quite a few strangers stopping by for various reasons... often they're lost... but just this p.m. I stopped to pick up a flyer in the driveway and a stranger pulls in in a jeep. She says she drives by all the time and loves our house. She wants to build a new house down county way as her husband is being relocated, and wants to use our house as inspiration. So we showed her around a bit and she said she'd like to come back with her husband to learn more. Nice lady. We tease our architect that he's created an "attractive nuisance".

We should have a get together for local GWers so we can all meet face to face, bring our color and fabric swatches, y'know, the whole 9 yards...or 18 for a sofa!

That's a riot mtnrdredux, being impulsive I would have driven in lol. Being in this group I always believe that anyone would be happy to meet another in person.

I'm still cracking up...when you were driving by, I think I was at the paint store buying a bunch of pints in different colors to start my practice boards for the sunset ceiling in the dining room....

Who knows? Maybe we've already met and don't know it...looking at swatches or paint chips or something....

It's so funny, I mean what are the odds? Do you know how many thousands of houses are probably within a 1hr radius of ours, and I drive PAST yours? And, trust me folks, Annie is on a charming back rd, not Rt1.

Does anyone else in or near Fairfield County CT want to try to do a lunch? I went to a group Kitchen GW lunch a few years ago, but never a CT get-together.

Ah...at noon, I was having lunch with a friend....the paint store was right across the street...so I had to stop afterward, no?

I suspect I know how you came by our house too...I know those back roads well, and they are winding and twisting and narrow and fun...

Did you go by the waterfalls? They are so wonderful. Did you see the house that is very near the road and has all the mack trucks nailed to the tree and all over the roof? It's so much fun to bring kids to see it. I'll have to take pics of it the next time I'm by there and post it.

I did see the trucks on the roof! So cute. I notice when I drive around CT I often see something whimsy or artsy like that!

Well, then you missed the falls....you probably wouldn't notice them if you were driving with the windows up...you have to stop and get out of the car to see them...except for the one that's across the street from the "truck" house.

Seriously, shall we start a thread on the decor side to gauge interest in a GW get together for our region?

Or would you like to meet up first and then we can discuss?

I can go either way. Maybe we should just try to do lunch next week, and whoever can make it , great?
