Best induction cooktop and Double oven

HI I am in process to change my stove to induction cooktop and wall oven.

I am not sure which brand is good. Samsung, Bosch or Elecrolux??

Definitely worth a review google as well as Houzz. We have a Frigidaire gallery. It is the noisiest stove ever. It blows air on me while I cook. I don’t know if other induction stoves have this but it’s pretty annoying. The fan is on with the stove top and when using the oven… then stays on forever while it cools off. There have been other posts on here about the stovetop’s shattering out of nowhere. Ugh.

I got a 30 inch Wolf induction cooktop last spring & have been very happy with it. My concern was finding a layout that worked well with large pots & pans (10-12 inch base diameters) without crowding the remaining area. That eliminated cooktops with a big center burner. I like the bridge feature more than I thought I would, using it for caramelizing onions on a griddle, making gravy in a roasting pan, & of course for breakfast & lunch foods. It looked to me that Wolf had good reliability compared to other brands I looked into. Two year warranty too. I paid more in hopes that it wont fizzle out in a few years.

I gambled on something unusual for a new oven & am so glad I did: a GE Profile Twin Flex oven. It's two small ovens in a single oven space. The lower oven is big enough for turkey or big roasts or simmering a 12 quart stock pot: more capacious than it looks. The upper oven is great for sheet pan meals, casseroles, etc. I'm impressed with how evenly it bakes, its quiet operation, the versatility of two ovens, how it doesn't heat up the kitchen. It has a probe feature, proofs dough, & a warming feature. If GE Profile's other ovens are as good, you should definitely check out that brand.

Looks like there are five or six induction ranges, available at A J Madison (see link, below). I'm not clear that any have two fully functional ovens. Welcome Heather, In real life, you won't have much,if any, beeping. Don't lock the controls. That is silly and a cya reaction to your question. I have Bosch but believe there won't be any appreciable difference. The guts are made by the same ppl. Convection in both ovens is more important, useful, than flex induction. Here's my experience. Pots of all sizes work on all hobs, except possibly for those that might be too small. It still works if the pot is not centered on the hob. My pots are sometimes off center and partly off the hob and it still works and works exceptionally well . If it works, it works well. I have taken pots off the hob to add water under the faucet and it works again when I place it back on the hob. Granted my faucet is just a swivel away. Flex sounds so appealing but it just is not necessary unless, possibly, if you want to bridge something, say a huge roaster. And even then I am not sure you cannot monkey with something. At our cottage, with a gas/stove, I might move a pan partially off to control heat and that's monkeying in my book. I use the convection feature in my double oven Bosch for cookies and breads which is about all I bake. So I would not trade double convection for what I see as an unnecessary but sexy sounding flex. Couple of things re induction to help with the learning curve. Rest your finger and don't press. And, use boost to attain aboil, not to maintain a boil. Don't worry or even think about power sharing.

As you have discovered, there are great differences between both the actual vertical dimensions of various cooktops and ovens and -- just as importantly -- the clearances that specific models of cooktop require below, or that certain models of oven require above, the appliance. We have had an arrangement such as the one you desire, but not with the brands that you have been looking at, for almost 15 years now. From our (possibly obsolete) experience, the LG induction cooktop is the skinniest induction cooktop that you are likely to find. It is about the thickness of an Apple MacPookPro laptop of 2008 or so vintage. Part of its secret is that the exhaust for the air that the cooling fan blows over the electronics when the cooktop is in operation is at the rear of the cooktop above the surface (in the stainless trim). The exhaust slots are very skinny: about the thickness of a U.S. nickel, but they seem adequate to the task. Because the volume of the room is for all intents and purposes infinite for the purpose of accepting the cooling airflow, considerations of saturating the exhaust area as could happen for units that exhaust into the enclosed volume beneath the cooktop are moot. Among wall ovens, we found that the Bosch convection (not steam) ovens were a few inches shorter, top-to-bottom, than the other brands that we measured or checked the specs for. That would allow you to mount a Bosch lower (farther from the underside of the cooktop), but you then would be stooping lower to lift your Thanksgiving turkey out of the oven as your guests salivate. Because we had no problem with clearance below a cooktop, we used the compactness of the Bosch wall oven to mount it high, with a shallow drawer under the oven for hard to store items like cookie sheets and pizza stones.

In terms of function, other than the bending (potentially also there with a double wall oven), and the size (depending on which range and/or wall ovens you choose), the real issue is that ovens are generally afterthoughts on ranges. People talk about the cooktop: Number, power and arrangement of burners, grating type, open or closed, etc. The oven is the oven you get with the cooktop you want. There's actually more variation in ovens than there are in cooktops within a particular category. If you find a range that has an oven you like, fabulous! If you don't, however, you can either buy separate cooktop and oven, and put the oven underneath in the European style, or have a separate cooktop and wall oven(s). In general, a free standing range gives you the most function for the least price. If your budget is tight, it's a place you can save. You not only save on the price of the freestanding range vs. separates, but also on the cabinetry/countertop (that's not so true with a slide-in or drop-in). Ranges also come in nominal sizes, so if you don't make the space too specific you can swap one out fairly easily. Or you can spend the extra dollars and have a close fit with a counter that comes right up to the sides and not worry about the future. Both wall ovens and cooktops require such different openings that replacements without some carpentry and patching can be challenging.

Awm03- do you find these burners are working well with your larger pans? The left side seemed a little crowded but I rarely use 5 or even 4 pans at a time. What about scratching? This one seems pretty durable. Thanks!!

Yes, I'm happy with the hob placement & how my cookware fits on the cooktop. No scratching, despite frequent use of cast iron.
