Installing Oven Under Bosch Induction Cooktop
Comments (2)It's not meant to be done that way, that's why they don't show the specification. The only "vented" ovens I know of are Thermador models from the 60-70's - and I'm pretty sure none of them would fit below a cooktop anyway. It can physically be done with a few ovens, like hockeyfan illustrates. But, you might prematurely wear out the electronics on the ctop and I'll bet BSH will decline to warranty it for you. Even if you decide to foot the bill yourself the part and labor will run close to a grand in many cases - check the induction threads that abound....See MoreWWYD Induction range or cooktop with oven under?
Comments (4)I have the Elux Icon 30" Induction cooktop. It does not beep when you move or even remove a pot/pan. It shows an "F" and the setting you were using if you remove the pot/pan. You have 3 minutes to put the pot back, and then it continues at whatever heat setting you had set. If you leave the pan off for more than 3 minutes, it shuts off that particular hub. Ours has the big burner 10" up front, but I have put up many posts about using a small pan on a big hub, a large pan on a small hub, it is not very particular in that regard---if you put a large pan on the small hub and put a little water in the pan to see the heating pattern, at first you will see the outline of the smaller burner in the pan, but in less than a minute the whole bottom of the pan is bubbling away----this is more a function of pot/pan quality than the hub---we have the Emeril set which is layers (cladding) of Stainless steel, Aluminum and copper--as copper and aluminum are better conductors of heat than just stainless, --the heat spreads pretty rapidly. Anyway we've had the unit for about a year now and we really enjoy using it. We also have the Elux Icon 30' Oven/convection oven--that one for almost 5 years now. It too has been trouble free and we love the Wavetouch controls , the fully glide-out racks that are on roller bearings, the way it is lit inside, The big glass door which stays very cool and of course we luv its accuracy for baking. Hope this Helps! Gary...See MoreElectrolux wall oven under a Fagor induction cooktop?
Comments (0)Hi, We're trying to finalize our design, and my wife likes the Electrolux 30-inch single oven (EW30CG55G). We would like to mount it under-the-counter. I am interested in getting an induction cooktop to install over it. I like the Fagor IFA80 BF - 30-inch induction. It comes very close to fitting, but the angled part of the oven that attaches to the front panel may cause the oven to exceed the clearance to the cooktop that I need for ventilation (2-inches). Can anyone help me by providing the dimensions of the oven - particularly the top angled part? I have a call in with Electrolux customer service, but, I am not sure if they will get back to me as they did not have that information readily available. As an alternative I am considering the Electrolux Hybrid cooktop, or their regular electric. We do not want the stainless trim that the Electrolux induction has. Any other alternatives to suggest? My wife really would like gliding racks for the oven. Thanks...See MoreDecision Time: induction range vs. induction cooktop with oven below
Comments (30)dsgulbas, are you arguing that Wolf is a commercial quality range??? I hope you understand that the Wolf commercial range company is NOT the one you are advocating. The Wolf brand name was purchased by a refrigeration company that has never produced a commercial range. The original Wolf stove company operates out of California and produces commercial stoves but has no relationship whatsoever to SubZero. Here is their website: http://www.wolfequipment.com/Wolf/Products/subcat.aspx?brand=Wolf&cid=1&scid=38 SubZero/Wolf gas stoves are not commercial quality and don't even have open burners, they are very good stoves but first and foremost are prime examples of kitchen jewelery. SubZero/Wolf ranges may be heavy but they are not long lasting. Try to get a Wolf gas range porcelain oven interior fixed after the warranty expires and you'll soon find out they are essentially disposable items. Been there done that. I will never defend Samsung as I've had bad experiences with them too but I don't see Wolf being any more (or even as) reliable than GE, Electrolux, Bosch and a few others that are sold in less exclusive stores....See Morehvtech42
