Need decor, paint color advice for garage entryway
Comments (9)I think if you leave the angled ceiling white, painting the walls darker won't matter as much. You could also add a piece of vertical trim somewhere to the left of the hanging textile and stop the new paint there. Maybe at the bottom of the stairs that continue to the left? Hard to say without seeing it. What about something like this for lighting? I was looking for something with 3 bulbs and a clear shade. These are both Kichler: I think they now make LED Edison bulbs, too....See MoreEntryway Decor Help
Comments (9)I assume you have a hall closet so get rid of the coat rack, it crowds the space and looks messy. Definitely add a large rug instead of the small one, you'll want to protect those wood floors as much as possible. I think guests to your house would certainly appreciate a bench for putting on shoes. But then a table with storage is good for gloves keys etc. So it's a toss up. Whichever way you go, add a mirror above. It's so handy to check yourself before leaving the house. That's a great looking dog you have. Comments (5)I have no experience whatsoever with such a climate as I live in New England. However, from a structural standpoint, you might try to find a trustworthy contractor who could install three very large trees to balance the scale of the tall building with the ground plane. One tree should go in the space in photo #2 to the left of the deep end of the pool. The other two elsewhere in a triangular aspect. Perhaps one where the entry paving forms a corner in photo 3, and the third off to the opposite side of the pool. Whatever is in there now is just much to short. Make a serious investment in the proper giant trees for the conditions and the rest will fall into place. A lush ground cover all over would tie the place together. Whether it's soil improvement or just selecting something that is amenable to the climate, a uniform simple 'lawn' of low maintenance plants would make this peaceful. Visually, a waterfall would have to be enormous to look to scale here, and would have to go to the far end of the pool. Tricky to make that look cohesive. A water feature that creates sound near a sitting area is always welcome. A huge modern sculptural piece might be fun toward the left of the deep end of the pool. For style and realistic installation issues, you really need a designer, a plant expert, and a qualified contractor. You should stroll around town to find inspiration from you neighbors. Best wishes!...See MoreDecor recommendations for living and dining room needed
Comments (164)If you are going for color I agree with the one on the left from Beth. However, I still think the black and white is a good option with each one taking you in a different direction. When I look at the photos from further back, I see lots of texture in the pillows on the leather sofa and it seems the natural vibe in the living room currently is complemented better with the black and white. With this direction the nod to the stained glass could perhaps be introduced with some amber and teal accessories but maybe not the pink. If it was me I would complete the vignette with the black and white, the plant arrangement, etc. and live with it for a while. Hope this makes sense and helps....See Morehappyde10
