My new LG Wave Force washer Review
Comments (150)Dont you think that if they had left the machine alone it would still be fine today, other than the plastic squeak? I know as I said before that the old Calypsos had this type hanging system(and possibly GE) and I have heard the Calypso make the squeak and creak noise. As I told you before I hate to have something new with a "flaw" but I have also felt that sometimes I was too picky and would convince myself I needed to get it checked out only to be sicker(& madder)after service. A car for example, have a small rattle, carry in for service, they take half the car apart to fix it, then when you start home you no longer have that rattle, you have three more to go with it where they took things apart--now that is my luck--and I am thinking"Why on earth didnt I live with one small rattle but it is too late to back up then". Just go forward from here and I think I would try another one like you have. It seems like a great washer and you know that the LG made F/L didnt last you very long so maybe this next one will?. OH and about Sears using Electolux now instead of LG for front-loaders, I have always been told it depends on who bid the cheapest to build them. Not sure if that is true but I have heard that. Comments (94)@HU-410414692 Thanks so much for explaining why clothing and household items I've washed for years in cold, now shrink in Samsung's version of "cold". I've ruined too many loved items, things I've ALWAYS machine-washed. So thinking it must have been my error, and I'd forgotten to change the temp setting, I'd try it again. After several such shrinkage mishaps, I knew for certain I was using the cold setting. So I no longer wash anything shrinkable in my machine, even on delicate. I live in Southern California on a raised foundation house. The water doesn't get that cold in the first place, so if this machine adds warm water, as you explained, then I'm screwed for washing wools. I suppose I could wash on delicate in cold on very cold days in winter only and keep my fingers crossed. But it's not worth the risk. And that doesn't happen that often anyway. This shrinkage was the first thing I called Samsung about when I first bought the set. Samsung sent out a repairman because it was under warranty and he couldn't find anything wrong. (roll eyes). The company line was deny, deny, deny. I was so concerned about the machine destroying my things that I forgot to ask about the front coming off every time I opened the detergent drawer. I solved that issue by never using liquids At this point, the set is barely functioning as a washer and dryer for me. I might as well beat my clothes on rocks and dry them on tree branches. If I had the money for a new set, I'd set these on fire, I hate them that much. And I couldn't in good faith sell them to anyone else. Anyone considering buying Samsung: Please reconsider. You'll regret it. Samsung doesn't deserve your business. In fact, there are many other reviews here like mine. Comments (52)I was in her house today, the neighbors, I had been wondering why I haven't been invited inside even making the calls to get her help she brought the phones outside..well omg the house is in the most pathetic condition, she has 3 large dogs long haired, the house reeks of dog urine so bad it gags me, filth and dog hair everywhere. I gingerely walked to bathroom with her where her W/D are, I didn't get the model # but its a LG , not even 2 years old and there's rust everywhere on it, on the outside, very neglected, I didn't get close to the inside, I was glad she had rubber gloves there, I gloved up to sort the laundry, started a load of darks, I used reg/ heavy duty cycle (I think that's what it was called) steam, extra rinse, and hit the option for extra water, I can't remember what that was called.I will take a pic tomorrow of it. I took detergent with me but she just bought her 1st box of sears green box and wanted to try it..I can't go back on my word to help with her laundry, yet her home should be condemed its so bad..so I found some white pants and a white blouse to wear over there and I will wear my gardening shoes that never get worn in my house, this way I can wash and LCB my clothes when I'm done lol. I haven't seen her since she said she would put the clothes in the dryer. I'll get pics of this washer tomorrow. I can't believe the inside of her house and the outside is well maintained. So I'm in a fine pickle, but I'll still help with the laundry, but soon as I get home I'm in the shower lol....See MoreNoise from stacked LG mounting
Comments (29)Hi All. I recently fixed the problem of a loud banging on my stacked washer/dryer LG. The vibration from the washer was of course the route cause, along with a floor that was not stable enough to prevent the vibration from increasing. However, I found the source of the banging was a cracked mount for an electrical board in the dryer. I removed the top of the dryer - simple to do with screws in the upper back portion of the shell. On the left hand side (while facing from the front) there is a plastic mount to the side of the dryer that holds an electrical board. The mount is only attached at the top. Overtime, the plastic mount cracked enough to allow the board and mount to slam up against of the side wall of the dryer. I secured the mount with some tape to reduce the motion that it could make and the problem went away. Very same issue lisaz60614 had above, however I used a strong tape to pull the board back away from the dryer sidewall. The tape is secured to the top outside side panel however and is visible....See MoreJody Kelley
