Comments (6)I'd paint the walls a sage green. It's gender neutral. Do the ceiling a shade or two lighter. Paint the bookcase the same color as the wall and put it up on top of the dresser. Because it's a kids room fasten the furniture to the walls so it can't be pulled down on the kids. Her vanity I'd paint the same shade as the walls and then do a very puffy skirt on it in the green with some pink thrown in. Think of it as a ballet skirt lots of netting, glittery fabric. You could attach the skirt with a staple gun and then glue gun trim over the top to hide the staples. I'd give any stool or chair you get her the same treatment. A oval mirror above the vanity would be darling. I'd be incline to use green and white checks for the window treatments and bedding covers however knowing how kids are and depending on their ages that might be a battle you won't win. They all seem to love their special character bedding no matter how much it doesn't go with the room they are in AND since they are kids I wouldn't fight it. Save that battle for when they are older. I would give each child a white board and a cork board in their bed area to write on and to keep things that are important to them hung....See MoreDecorating this wall in our master bedroom... It's not possible to tell from the one view, but the first thing I thought when I saw your pic is that I would move the head of the bed over to that wall. I am assuming there is a window on the other side of the bed to match the one we see? If so, then that wall between them is much smaller for hanging art. It also might be possible to partially block the view of the dog crates if they are behind the bed when entering the room (or could they go on the wall the door is on, so they aren't so prominent from the door view?) Placing art above the dog crates is going to look odd and unfinished to me....See MoreNeed help arranging (and decorating) small bedroom
Comments (7)I lived in an apt. for three years where the only wall space big enough for the bed in the small bedroom was in front of the window because the other wall was all closet. It worked out OK. The only problem was once a week I could hear a loud noise of my neighbor emptying his recycling into the bin the night before pickup. The bedroom was on the ground floor right next to our shared driveway. I had good light blocking shades....See MoreNeed advice for decorating small bedroom on budget
Comments (7)I think you've got some good ideas. I've seen some nice rooms with wallpaper behind the bed. As long as the wall is correctly prepped and it's in your budget - go for it. When/if you want to change, it should be easy to remove. If you're going to do that, I'd choose bedding with little to no design. Clean and serene. I like your tulip table and also the acrylic piece - if it's the correct height. It may not be in your budget, but I love the floating shelves that decoenthusiaste posted. We can't see your window coverings, but I really like having room darkening treatments in my bedrooms. I used to frequently visit family in Texas and my room was east facing with shutters. The morning light was terrible....See MoreJustDoIt
