Need help decorating master bedroom
Comments (18)Agree on the furniture placement that you have. Thanks for the photos. So, if you keep the bed under the window, the best looks seem to be a full ceiling-to-floor drapery behind the bed. Right now, there are several different horizontal lines (blinds, headboard and swag) competing with each other. The long drapery changes all that so there is only one horizontal line, and that would be the headboard. In your room, I'd consider long drapes behind the bed, and eliminate the swag and the blinds. The two rooms below used a light sheer to get daylight into the room, and a heavy drapery for light control at night. The third room used a heavy grommet drapery and no sheers. All these room's have larger bedside lamps....See MoreNeed help! Choosing a Walk In Closet location for our master bedroom.
Comments (2)Interesting perspective! Didn't think about that. My closet door is usually open. One thing that makes me hesitant about B, is additional construction (tearing a wall down, and adding 2 walls VS just adding one wall). Any other reasons B is better, helping convince myself it's worth the costs....See MoreNeed help decorating boring Master Bedroom

Comments (31)Olivia- answering your question-I guess what you had originally is what I like. Navy curtains straight down. Skip the valance, would be great if you got rid of those wood blinds, but I understand if its a no go zone. Can I suggest room darkening curtains, they work well with blocking sunlight in the mornings. I did this in my room, just to avoid the whole blind thing and when I open the curtains the full window is exposed and lets in all the light. Agree with doods- longer rod, fuller curtains ( wider in size ). I have had 2 curtain panels stitched together to make a wider curtain before.. Not too high curtain rod setting either. Maybe a little puddling on floor to give it that romantic feel. Navy curtains I like, nice contrast against the lighter wall. Is that gold ( yellow ) in that artwork? ..so maybe add some gold accent in the room, either in throw blanket or throw pillow. Good luck!...See MoreAnnie Deighnaugh
