I need help redecorating guest bedroom - do these items work together?

I purchased this bed and desk yesterday. Do you think I can add this nightstand into the mix or do they clash? They would be placed on either side of bed.

It would be as you enter, and to the right of door as you enter bedroom; nightstand, bed, and the desk is on the other side of the bed with a window to the left of desk.

Since room is small, a desk/ nightstand/vanity might be a good choice. Skip the second small nightstand, as bed doesn't have to be centered. Could look for an antique.

Don't go all legs. Nightstands should arrive at mattress height. Are you going to post a pic of the room?

Everything looks great so far.

That nightstand is brilliant, what a great idea to add a pull-out to a nightstand so you can write something down while speaking on the phone, although they should have added a drawer for the pad and pen!

I would suggest as decoenthusiaste does to watch out for legs as you add more furniture. For example, if you add a sitting chair, an upholstered chair where you can't see the legs would be nice.

Also, it might be nice to add some color to the room, so it is not all stark white.

I erroneously selected a outwardly pink color for my attic office and when I returned home that night I hated it. My painter suggested one of BMs whites with pink undertone - Atrium white - and it was perfect. Should have checked with him BEFORE he painted as he was back changing it the next day. The point I am trying to make is that if you go for a pink, the most subtle color on a strip may end up being too much. Alice, happy to hear Fred gets a vacation from the guest room when you will actually have guests! If there is room to move the sofa to the opposite side, I would prefer it there. I never like to sleep with my back to a window, but would like to see the window from the bed. When you look for nightstands, perhaps you could find two small sets of drawers instead so you would have some extra storage for your guests. I like reading lamps beside my bed and need a place for my glasses. You could divide the closet so you have half with shelves and hanging space for guests' clothes and suitcases. You could still leave half for the sweeper, etc. I always appreciate a bottle of water, a small box of Kleenex (allergies!), and the written password for WiFi. I think framed photos of local sites is great in a guest room-the beach, your favorite local restaurant, the park, etc.

Yes I think the white dresser would go. I would do white or ivory bedding with colorful accents that highlight the green and also work in some gray. Or if you wanted to add a bunch of color, you could have a multicolored blanket folded at the foot of the bed.

The bed frame and nightstand/desk seem to be from two different style families, but they don't necessarily clash. Make sure the white of the stands play well with the fabric on the bed!

I'm waiting to paint rooom Cotton White and, once it's painted, I'll post pictures.

I hadn't thought about all those legs; thanks for pointing that out. I am returning the desk.

Not going to put a desk in that room after all. Just didn't look good; not enough space. I'm going to keep a fold up desk in the closet.

I like a small desk or table in a guest bedroom.

Many people will bring a laptop and will want to have a surface to work on, and it is not advised to work on the bed or your lap, it gets lots of lint and dust in there.

That's why college students fry their laptops on a regular basis, they work on their beds and laps and on the floor, and lots of dust and lint get in them and they don't vacuum them regularly or replace the heat paste either.

I would keep clutter to a minimum in a guest room and one of the ways to do that is to not have a bedside lamp.

You can have wall-mounted sconces that are plug-in so you don't have to use an electrician.

These posts have been very helpful. Thank you all so much. The bed just came in; not assembled but I like the color. It's a true linen beige. Desk is out. Still waiting for the nightstand and not finding a desk that appeals to me. If anyone has any suggestions, please share them here. I do have one piece in that room that is an antique and I am now thinking i won't replace it because it's perfect for storage.

You can use them if you acknowledge they are not nightstands, but desks...
