Are you remodeling? What is the current/old layout? Where are the gas/electric/water lines now? Why are you changing things around, were their pinch points, space issues, etc?

I think you are limiting options by not reworking the homes layout. But if you can’t here’s what I would do (see photo below)

Now a few things:

Number 1 - cooktop:
Island is probably the best option for that both functionally and aesthetically

Number 2 - fridge:
Really not many options for a full fridge.
Either do a full size right in the corner. To the right of the garage door.

Or

Left off garage door - it will be further away from you and your work triangle

Or

Get a smaller fridge. And install a fridge and freezer with a cabinet veneer by the coffee station for basics like milk, cheese, yogurts, ice creams....

I’d probably go with this option.

Number 3 - dishwasher :

Must go near sink. Probably to the right of the sink is best.

The more cabinet veneers you can do, the less choppy your space will look. I think that’s a investment worth considering.

There is so much more you can do with the space if your willing to rework some basics within the footprint.

Thanks so much for the advice. This is the current layout. Sorry for the rough drawing. I am looking to remodel, yes. I don't mind the fridge where it is (because it's been there 20 years!) and i can get a counter depth, but it will be seen from the living room which has always bothered me. I do like the doorway into the LR because I don't want the kitchen boxed in. When I'm in the kitchen I still feel like I have a connection to those in the LR. The stove is RIGHT next to the garage door. Horrible, but this is the way the house was when we bought it 20 years ago. The work area is only in one half of the kitchen as you can see because this monstrous ugly pantry takes up all the room on the other side. I don't need that much pantry space and I will be taking that out. I want a more open feel to the kitchen. The gas line is behind the stove and that can be moved. There is water by the sink and also behind the refrigerator. I can't have any power to a center island because that would require too much work and we will never do it. (Jackhammer to the foundation, etc.) I swear I have tried every combo I can imagine and nothing really seems to work. I do agree that the DW needs to go to the right and we can do that no problem.

If you were able to move the garage door over, that would solve a lot of issues.

I would find a kitchen designer (not one associated with selling cabinets) to help with the layout. They will be invaluable in giving you options. It will be money well spent

What is the scale of the paper you drew the kitchen on. Usually it's 1 square = 1 foot but that doesn't look like yours. And 8210's island looks to be 10' which is too large for an island

Most garage to house door positioning does not need to be set in stone. It's a big open space after all. Ypu'll walk a few more steps from the car in exchange for a real work zone.

i do agree that moving the door over is going to give me more options. There is a foundation curb to jackhammer, the house electrical panel to move, the furnace to move and waterlines to move depending on where we move the door. The other side of that wall has alot going on! I guess thats all part of the fun of remodeling :)

A few key measurements are missing -- all doors/doorways/windows/walls should have measurement labels (with trim included in the door/doorway/window measurements).

Post an updated version with all the measurements -and- a sketch of the entire floor the Kitchen is on. Here's an excerpt from the "New to Kitchens? Read Me First!" thread:

Please post a fully-measured layout of the space under consideration and a sketch of the entire floor.

By "fully-measured", we mean a layout with the widths of each wall/window/door/doorway and the distances between each wall/window/door/doorway labeled. See a sample below. If something cannot be moved or changed, label it precisely on your layout (see post in sample) and tell us why it cannot be moved/changed -- we may have some ideas for you.

The sketch of the entire floor lets us see how the Kitchen relates to the rest of the home. It doesn't have to be to-scale, but it should accurately show how the rooms relate to each other and should include all interior & exterior doors. In addition, it will help us see how traffic flows in, around, and through the Kitchen. Label the front entry and family entry. The family entry is usually a garage or side entry, but it might not be. It's helpful to know which door you use to bring in groceries.

Regardless of how you draw it up (by hand, computer, etc.), please be sure all measurements are labeled.

Other questions...

• Tell us about you and your family and how you plan to use your Kitchen. All-adults? Empty Nesters? Children (now or in the future)? Aging in place?
• What appliances (& their sizes) do you plan to have?
• Where are you flexible? Can walls/windows/doors/doorways change (move, change size, add, delete)?
• Do you have a basement under the Kitchen or are you on a slab?

Does that mean you are willing to move the Garage door? I'm asking b/c in your original/initial post, you said you weren't willing to:

"It is not an option to move or remove any of these doors"

My husband is researching if it is possible to move the door. The main electrical panel to the house is there plus water lines.

I really liked the layout Karenseb posted, and if we are able to move the door i will do that. If not, I guess Im stuck with things the way they are. Thanks everyone for the input!
