would love help with exterior colors

Would really appreciate help in choosing an exterior house color and trim color. Currently renovating our house and the exterior. The way the house looks now will change from this picture. We are getting all new trim and moving the sidewalk and columns to frame the new front door. Also new columns will be cedar. What colors would work for us? Roof is a brown color. I LOVE white dove but not sure how that would work with white vinyl windows. I’ve listed before but only got 1 reply so here I go again.

I am leaning that way. I like the idea of contrast and I just can’t get away from white dove , so maybe a nice gray green color 🤔

We are using much larger columns. I believe 8 inches is what the contractor suggested. I love the brick idea!

Can’t wait to see the end result!!

What is your inspiration for your renovation? A white home with white trim? What size trim are you planning on using? Do you want your trim color to match the color of the siding on your home (whatever that might be?). I would match your siding color to your window color, if you want a White House. Do you plan on adding shutters? (I see where they were removed.). You might consider having your roof cleaned. Your idea of relocating the sidewalk so that it enters at the front door is a very good idea. Make sure the new sidewalk can accommodate two people walking side by side.

Ooo I like the FB tallow quite a bit, a little creamier. But i couldnt really judtify the price, let alone have the patience fir delivery, but Home Depot had a formula for imitating that I will get a sample of. Here is an old picture of the place before we added anything and even finished the siding. As you can see it looks more like a hunting shack than a romantic candlelit cabin, and Very small! It has come along way from here but I've just sealed the knots in the pine so it looks a little silly or I would take new pic.

Oh and thank you so much, I'm sorry I completely forgot my manners. I am working too and trying to do two things at once is sometimes a bit confusing. I still have so much to do but I fall more and more in love with this house every day. I'm still flat broke from the move but am trying to do little $20 and $50 fix ups here and there and this time I'm focusing on putting on a pretty face for the porch/front of the house, so a gallon or two of paint is what I'm working with.

We painted our house a Porter Paint color called Sea Sand, with shutters painted a black called "wrought iron". The roof was estate gray. I absolutely loved it, but boy did I chew on it before having it done. We even bought a small can and painted some here and there, but it didn't do the final effect justice. Any landscaping you do, whether greenery or flowers, it all just POPS against the yellowish color (although is is not really yellow). That house now has more curb appeal than it ever did when it was white or gray. Every time I drive up I am so thankful for my choice, because it did what I wanted it to do. A happy color! There is also a color called Umber Shadow (old Porter Paint color) that is the perfect color to paint concrete porch floors. It is the color of wet concrete. I love the idea of painting the porch ceiling a watery blue/green! Have fun with your house! It can really drive you nuts though!

It’ll look fine with the white windows if you do trim in another color.

my inspiration? not sure exactly other than i love pretty things. our house is rural and on a 2.5 acre lot surrounded by trees. I do want our house to blend in but stand out, too, if that makes sense :) We will not be adding shutters, and as far as trim, the bigger the better :) . I really do love trim that makes a statement, but I have not done a lot of research into size yet. I love the idea of a wider sidewalk. We do have a TON of leftover brick from a previous job we did on this home and I wondered about using that for the walkway, too. Thanks for your help!

Since you are in the country you could do all white with dark trim. It would be a traditional farmhouse look. The idea of relocating the sidewalk is good. I agree with previous poster who said make the sidewalk wide enough for 2 people. I would choose a larger diameter for the columns. Since you mentioned the leftover bricks , you may want to use those on the porch floor. Post pictures when you are done. It will be beautiful.
