Hot Air Balloon Show...couple of years ago back home.

It was a windy day on the ferry between Wood Island, PEI and Caribou, NS

I've not been in a hot air balloon...but I understand there's no wind when you're in the balloon as you are in the wind.

Riding the wind. This time of year, it's common to see groups of a dozen or so vultures migrating south. This day there were hundreds! They'd glide in in lines, catch an updraft and start circling, up and up, then when you could barely see them, a line would form and they'd glide downward, south again.

Imagine seeing the air not as a uniform "nothingness" but instead as a patchwork of warm updrafts, cold slides downward, gentle moving layers to support your flight.
