DD texted this photo to me a few minutes ago. She's starting a new job this morning and her building is across the street from where I had my first job as a librarian when moving to Philadelphia. She's a little nervous so I told her that she should consider it a good omen.

New mise en place bowls, made in Turkey. These are 3-1/8" diameter, I received them last week and have already been using them.

My new shoes for Fall. Being a Western gal, they immediately my eye at our local boots and saddle shop.

Thanks Eld. She could use a morale boost. She was furloughed during Covid, recalled part-time and then her department was eliminated. While this isn't her dream job it is a wonderful organization and a great opportunity for professional growth. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

A new visitor to my back door this morning. He first showed up with a hickory nut in his mouth and stood up at the door. Then he hopped up on the railing to eat. Then he looked in again before leaving - to get more nuts presumably. :)

Maire Cate, best of luck to your daughter! what a great location. I can think of two or three places where she might be working, all wonderful. Glad the flood has receded. All the drone shots of the flood showed the roof of the Free Library and I could see the location of my old office, next to the Skyline Room. Best office location ever!

Thanks dedtired - it's probably the first place that came to your mind since it's a more recent introduction to that area. I'm not normally superstitious but I don't want to jinx anything so I'm not naming anything.

I didn't realize that your office was on the top - lucky you. A friend of mine attended a wedding there 2 years ago and raved about it. I haven't been there since everything was renovated but it It does have a great view.

Outside - I've never seen one of those, what a neat web.

Thanks, Maire. They are pretty common around here esp this time of year and are also known as zipper spiders, zigzag spiders and maybe some other names. They are beneficial for eating, or trapping in their webs, aphids, mites, mosquitos, and other garden pests.
