punamytsike, my kids are 15, 14, 12, 11 and 9...Plenty old enough to make their own breakfast...however, their attention to detail lacks a lot...plus they will make WAY too much if I am not there. By "attention to detail" lacking, I am referring to those important details like turning off the stove caps or oven...or taking the fork out of the bowl before putting it in the microwave. Or using the timer so that food doesn't burn. I have tried SO hard to teach them to pay attention to these things but after nearly 3 house fires, I had to make a "no baking for frying rule..." Especially since 4 of my 5 are up by 6:00 on the weekends and I don't get up until 7:30 or so. Their use of household appliances is limited to the toaster and microwave. I also have to set limits. Three waffles, one cup of juice and one cup of milk for breakfast. One banana. If I don't do this, one child will have 8 waffles and the late risers will get nothing. This makes it very difficult to buy in bulk. I shop often. No less than once per week...because if I shop for 2 weeks everything is still gone in one week. I blame this on the fact that I have 4 boys who could eat themselves through a brick wall. LOL! The macaroni dish is one my mother fixed when I was growing up. I have wanted to try it here but I'm afraid to. Two of my kids are very very picky...I think I'll try it this week though. I always LOVED that dish!

As in the great racehorse Seattle Slew, but that always makes me think of the quantity, "a slew of" something, and it's usually not nice. And if you slough off something, you "sluff" it off, right? Anyway, I just call that park "the one behind where Dominick's used to be" to avoid pronouncing it at all. And edenchild, we spell plough "plow". Another difference! Vive la difference? :)

Probably the only way to have a toilet and sink in 4' X 4' space and have it meet code is to have: 1) a very small sink, and 2) a door that swings out or a pocket door. For starters. any toilet must have 15" of clear space on either side of the centerline, and a minimum of 21" of clear space in front of it. The shortest standard toilet you can typically get is one with a round bowl, which would be about 24" front to back. If you add 21" to that, you're at 45" minimum. That means that the toilet would occupy a rectangle that is 30" wide and 45" long. After this is subtracted from the rest of your space, you have a space about 18" X 48" in which to fit a cabinet and sink (presuming the toilet is back in the corner to one side rather than centered on the back wall). You would then place a very narrow (18" or less) vanity against the wall in the other back corner. Alternatively you could put in a corner sink to make this small space feel a little roomier: Corner sink A door that opened in would hit the toilet unless it was a pretty narrow door (less than 24" wide), and it would be awkward to close it once you were inside. Trying to place the sink on a side wall would make things even more awkward. That's why you would need an outward opening door, or, preferably, a pocket door.

I'm going back and forth on adding in some small streaks of the green and bits of silver. Here's what I'm thinking as of now: 1) Base coat - Color match to the beige/light gray in the pillow that comes with set (see picture of forest green comforter I added above.) 2) Add a FEW streaks ("strie"- the vertical lines), of the green and light gray (or whatever the "beige/light gray" pillow color is). I would add maybe 1 streak of each every 7 - 8 inches. I probably wouldn't even be using a teaspoon of each color for the entire wall. I doubt it would even show in the pictures, but when one is in the room, they would see a very subtle lines of the green and light gray. And if I even change the comforter, I could just paint over the green and light gray streaks. 3) Add the metallic paint (something light and "pearly") as the final coat on the headboard wall. 4) Paint the rest of the walls in the base coat (the beige/ light gray color matched from the pillow.) I really like the "drama" of the forest green comforter against the light walls. I also love that large gold metallic vase in @Molly 's picture. Thinking of doing something like that in a pewter. Now just have to find a massive vase that doesn't cost $300+ dollars.
