Cabinet hardware headache - advice please
Comments (2)I've had the same problem Top Knobs in that all of the samples I've ordered from them are flawed. I did call and ask if they use seconds for their sample supplies and was told that was not the case. Regardless, the quality of their samples really had me question their quality control practices. Based on the last batch of samples that I received the other day, I feel that I should probably rule them out as a supplier. I I were you, I would call the manufacturer directly and speak to someone in customer service about replacing your product. They may assign someone to pull your order personally....See MoreNeed advice on choosing type of kitchen cabinet hardware
Comments (1)It's really a personal, aesthetic choice. Check out photos on Houzz & you'll see huge variation, and you can gauge which ones look good to you. A more modern look tends to be very long pulls - often on both drawers and all upper cabinets as well. A "rule of thumb" I've seen for drawers is making a pull 1/3 the size of the cabinet - but there's a lot of variation there, too. Really, it seems that are are no rules - there's only what you like. If you're planning on "aging in place", consensus seems to be that pulls are easier than knobs for arthritic hands. Again, look at photos, maybe do a search using keywords that reflect your kitchen/aesthetics: "traditional, cherry, black" PS: click on the above green "search" & scroll down to the photos...See MoreKitchen hardware advice
Comments (6)If you want to consider the black and brass combo there is hardware to select from............personally, I would not have selected brass anything to coordinate with the current finishes of your kitchen. I might have selected something like you see below in this image. The hardware can be viewed as black or dark bronze....See MoreNeed advice and help with kitchen cabinet paint colors and hardware
Comments (28)You could do it w/a jigsaw. (borrow or rent one if you don't have one) These are some DIY links that will walk you through it. Grab a friend w/a bit more know-how if you don't think you can manage. (or, you can always pay a pro to do it. ) DIY all you have to do is go to a glass shop and give them the measurements of the cut piece you'll need. try seeded glass. then you silicone the glass on the back and hold in place w/glass clips. https://www.familyhandyman.com/project/convert-wood-cabinet-doors-to-glass/ a few more how-to's https://www.confessionsofaserialdiyer.com/how-to-add-glass-to-cabinet-doors/ https://providenthomedesign.com/2014/03/03/diy-glass-cabinet-door/ This one is very detailed: https://simplyrooms.wordpress.com/2012/09/23/project-converting-cabinet-doors-to-glass/ you may need some more tools for this since you are keeping the real wood. you'll have to finish off the edges after cutting. not difficult, just another step. for a few hundrend, you could prob get a cabinet guy to do it all for you....See MoreShopping mamma G
