Love everything, EXCEPT the stacked stone. I strongly suggest doing a stone that look real, tile or some other material.

These granite faced fireplaces are attractive. You can do a rustic beam rather than a formal mantle.

Austin Limestone is a light colored stone that is really beautiful. (But PLEASE don't put your TV over the fireplace as this picture has it. It is too high; it should be at eye level when sitting and a beautiful piece of art should be over the fireplace.)

Looks like mainly transitional style. I would also suggest changing the stacked stone - it looks dated and there are so many other great options. Depending on your geography, it's nice to use a style of stone that is local to the area. The lights look fairly generic. I'd take photos of your space or the floorplan to a good lighting store and ask for suggestions. It's one of the sometimes overlooked items that can really impact the feel of your home. I'd avoid the clear pendant light which can give you a lot of glare.

Nice selections, except for the FP. Do you have any exterior elements to show us? Inside and out should relate.

@houssaon, thanks for the feedback, I so appreciate it. I'll look into other stone options for sure. Thanks for the suggestions! And I agree with you on the TV, it surprises me that so many people put it above the fireplace. We find that pretty miserable!

@calidesign, we are in TN, so there should be some local options. I'll look into that. I do have some reservations about the glass pendants, but oh, I just love them so much! Can't find anything else I'm excited about. But I don't want to wind up regretting them. Thanks so much for the suggestions!

@decoenthusiaste, thanks for your thoughts! The exterior is going to be a wide planked white siding with black shingle roof. 8'x33' front porch with triangular dormer above. Garage doors are going to have raised rectangular panels with 6-lite windows at the top.

Any time I see a kitchen that looks like the photo was turned grayscale, I cringe. For me, that wouldn't work at all. So, if that were intentional, you probably don't want my advice.

For the fireplace, I think the placement in the room dictates whether or not to keep the raised hearth. The raised hearth is nice as a place for overflow seating if included in the seating arrangment. If it is right in a walkway, it may be better to lower the hearth and have it be flat against the floor. Or if you have very young children/babies you would need to use corner protectors for a raised hearth for a few years. Just some things to consider. It's easy to change that now.

@calidesign, I agree that it depends. Ours will be a corner fireplace, which I know is not always popular. But we have one now and actually really like it. There's something cozy and inviting about it to me. And in the new house, there are only two living room walls, as it is an open floor plan. One wall I wanted all windows and French doors, the other wall will have the TV. So the fireplace in the corner works for our space. We have used ours

for overflow seating for kids sometimes, as you mention, or to sit right next to the fire for a few minutes to warm up. We look forward to the same possibility in the new house.

In that configuration I like the raised hearth, as long as it is tall enough to sit on (the example photo is too low).

I like your new option. It always looks more natural if you choose a stone that is found in your geographical area if possible, or at least looks like it would be there naturally.
