I have a bay window area with 2 side windows and a patio door. Neither of the windows work and the door sticks. So, all are getting replaced. I hate the oak trim that I have throughout my house and this sits right next to the kitchen which also has oak cabinets and trim. I have 2 questions: 1) Should I replace the door with a patio door or french doors? The patio door is just under a 5 ft door...so I don't like the narrowness. But, know a slider would be easier and more efficient. 2) I am replacing the full windows/trim. Is this the time to change the trim/door color? Or, because the rest of the house is oak, I should keep things that way? I would love to change the whole oak concept throughout the house...but honestly, not sure when that will happen. I am also in process of placing a light gray deck outside...and excuse the tape on the window...painting the exterior.
