Comments (29)A few ( like 10 or 12) years ago, I went to a comic convention and saw a panel of writers from Mad Magazine. They had very interesting things to say and were still funny. I bought a set of CDs from them that contained all the Mad Magazines going back to the beginning through the current date, which was about 12 years ago. Here's something I copies from that CD set, from the 1963 set. I especially liked that because we got so many reruns of Gale Storm back then. Here's a scan from one of my Pogo books: This has my three favorite characters in it. Back in the early 1960s, you could get plastic figures of Pogo characters in Oatmeal (or something similar), and I collected them all. A few years ago, I bought the ones I did not still have for about $10 each from Yahoo stores. I think people sell them on eBay also, but they are more expensive there. And that parts of Missouri I've been to (yes, the southern part) seemed much more "Southern" than not. That was in response to littlebug's photo showing that cafe's every special that day, dessert included, was fried. I'm sure living in different places had many positive aspects for you. Are you the person who mentioned some time ago having spent time living in Davis? With the exception of UCD that gives it some of a college town vibe that could be anywhere, I think Davis is much more accurately described as a Sacramento Valley location than a Bay Area one. Comments (84)Lol, Bunny :) The crust is the only actual recipe; the quiche is just s method… 4 eggs beaten with 3/4 cup heavy cream with salt and pepper and whatever herbs you like, poured into a parbaked crust lined with shredded cheese and whatever else you want. This is a double crust recipe; for chicken or ham and leek pie i use it all, but for quiche I freeze half the dough. 2 1/2 cups sifted AP flour quarter cup grated Parmesan 12 tblsp salted butter (or equal amount of unsalted butter and a tsp table salt) 1/2 cup sour cream 1 egg at room temp In a food processor, pulse flour (and salt if you’re using unsalted butter) and parmesan til combined. Add in cold butter cut into 1/2 inch pieces and pulse until butter is pea sized Combine sour cream and beaten egg, then add half to the flour mixture and pulse five or six times, then add the rest and pulse until a dough begins to form. I put a piece of plastic wrap on the counter and dump the dough into it, then bring it together by pulling the sides of the plastic in towards the center. (it’s easier than handling it and oreserves the butter temp better.) Divide the dough equally and form into disks, wrap and refrigerate for an hour, or put one in the freezer for future use....See More- 2 years ago
