how to remove bulb print on bulbs

our new modern light fixture just has bulbs that screw it but shows the print on the bulb. How to remove it? Standard 40 watt soft white phillips.

Stop using incandescent bulbs for sure and if you do not show the fixture we can only guess.

Probably varies by manufacturer. Remove the cooled bulb from the fixture, put a little bit of solvent -- like acetone or paint thinner -- on a paper towel, and see if it rubs off. Or you could try a fine abrasive, like steel wool. If the printing is etched into the glass, you're out of luck.

Seems to be considered differently in various parts of the US. In the Pacific Northwest, our abundant rain makes it thrive too much. The seeds find their way under other plants and I end up having to lift those plants in order to get to bluebells. i would go the round up route ... buy undiluted concentrate ... read the directions for bulb killing ... act appropriately ... [you can probably find it online if you want a preview ....] i would bet.. its a higher dilution than what might be in the ready mix stuff ... tulips stored energy last fall ... to come up and bloom this spring .... after that.. the leaves stay green for a while ... storing energy ... and then many throw up a leaf or two in fall ... while growing new roots to store energy.. to repeat the process ... [thats why they are usually planted in fall] so spraying in spring .. and interrupting the storage of new power in late spring ... would be the plan ... but.. i wouldnt be surprised if killing bulbs.. takes a bit more persistence.. than just one shot and your done ... the trick with pump tanks.. is low pressure and tip adjustment... so that you can see actual drops ... and they fall right where you want them .. do not go all french perfume with high pressure.. because that is when you get drift onto plants you want to keep ... practice with water on the driveway until you figure it out .... if you prefer not to use an herbicide ... just start digging ... until you get so po'd .. that you change your mind.. lol ... ken https://duckduckgo.com/?q=killing+bulbs+with+roundup&t=ffcm&ia=web

WD 40 is a good sticky substance remover. Smear it on and use a little elbow grease and soft cloth to wipe off residue.

You could use Turtle Wax sticker remover (also erases print) or a citrus-based paint remover.
