I'm sure Jason was kidding since the original post on this thread from Feb. is still here. Just out of curiosity, How many pages of threads do we get in this area and how many threads will fit on a page? Seems like this photo gallery is pretty dead. I did think that this would be a good place for each forum member to post their own thread to keep adding their progress pictures. In other words, we could each post one thread and when you have updated pics, just add to your current thread. That would leave lots of room to continue adding new pics without bumping anyone off. We also can always bump the more important stuff if it is in danger of falling off. That leaves the less popular threads to be at the bottom. Rescue the ones you love, guys and all will still be well with the world.

I agree with above poster. However I would not paint the wood I would stain it darker to match the stair treads. Remove the shelves to right and replace with wall board moving cabinet to that area as already recommended. Remove shelves to left for wall mounted TV with swing arm as stated above. Try staining the wood wall area where TV would go in a small sample area as a test site before staining all the wood including mantel and molding. There is a great product that is very easy to use and does not require prior sanding, it is wipe on and gives new life to older colored wood. I used it to rejuvenate an entire bedroom set. It is called General Finishes gel stain and comes in a variety of colors. I do not work for nor do I have any financial interests in this company.

No, just leave it with the eggshell finish. Mine is gray washed with eggshell, it has held up just fine.
