Help me choose between these 2 Trane systems.....I am at a loss..
Comments (16)Thank you Tiger for addressing my question. I am not sure about the cost of electricity. My electric bill jumped about a year and a half ago, and I am not sure why. Used to be about $180 a month on an equal payment plan. Started having AC problems around that time with it frequently icing up (a 5 tom unit). Last fall my AC broke down altogether, had a company come and repair it.....they charged $1,000 and it lasted exactly 12 hours. At that point they told me they knew all along that the AC could not be repaired but not to worry, I could use the money towards a new AC as long as I bought it from them. I of course refused, took them to court, won....but the company refuses to pay the court ordered amount. That's my story in a nut shell. So now I need a new system before the weather gets too hot. My present furnace is 130 ton I think they told me. As far as rate is concerned, a quick google searched came up with this: Power rates will be $.09/kwh up to 1,000 kilowatts. The rate for usage over 1,000 kilowatts will increase to $.1085/kwh. Gas I have no clue, the google search made no sense to me. Design temperatures used were 8* and 75*...See MoreTorn between 2 color schemes. Please give input
Comments (9)I sympathize and empathize with you. My last place was also a lot of earthtones, reds, gold, copper. I moved here last summer and was ready for light and fresh and coastal but my darn orangey cabinets and brownish granite are not helping me go in that bright fresh direction. I am resisting going back though. I am sticking to neutrals. My LR is oatmeal/chocolate with some splashes of blue and green. The rest of the space is neutral and some more light green. It's not the bright white colorful modern look I had in my head, but it is warm and not as colorful as my past place (in a good way). I'm pleased with it. It is a new spin on the old me.. I did the bathrooms and bedrooms in light and fresh and airy and blue's so I got that out of my system. The whole place still has continuity because of all the neutral-ness going on. The bits of blue and green tie it together just fine. Green seems to be a good connector color to bridge the earthtones and neutrals with the coastal tones. I've never used much green before but I like it a lot....See Moretorn between 2 ikea cabinet styles
Comments (15)Some of the new doors are up on the wall o' styles at the Baltimore Ikea. I'd say the white is more of a wash than painted - you can see the wood through a lot of it. The Black is kind of antiqued - but blacker than the white is white if that makes any sense. They did not have the cherry colored one. They didn't have the info tags, so I know the outer frame is solid from the way the joints are done, but I don't know about the center panel. If you wait for the new doors, you're still gonna be sanding. You might like the design better, but you're gonna be sanding. I went through Scherrs and got finished premium cherry in a mitered door style for about 25% more than buying the most expensive ikea doors. I wanted something Ikea didn't have. Each and every bit of them is solid cherry. My total for cabs, drawers, doors, sinks and fittings (like grundtals) is still way less than $4k, so I'm very happy. But I do love the photo of the stainless fronts with the very ornate handles. Very romantic!...See MorePicking between 2 lights for booth in kitchen help me choose
