Wow, I guess Lizzie got "told"! Suppose there's a nest nearby?

Here's a couple from my house, taken seconds apart.

Taken by DD1 at her new apartment. This was my mother's. She wanted to bury her in the side yard, so I was finally going to have it buried. DD1 said "nope, nope! She's coming to live with me." She's named her. I think she is somewhat creepy. At some point, Mom put electrical tape around her leg, which is also held on with a heavy wire. Her neck also has some of the wire.

@Allison0704 oh goodness! I couldn't throw her away either. I hope your daughter will allow some pics shared of her apartment!

I decided to share this after Allison shared her mom's doll. My husband made this vanity from a vintage "gentlemen's chest". See the little china "glass lady/doll???" beside the soaps? That was my mother's. Not sure where she came from and if she ever had a bottom half. But I claimed her.

You can see my love for vintage. The soap dish is a lidless candy dish. I wish the picture showed more of the mirror - that was over my mom's make-up vanity. I have the piano stool she used at her vanity in the corner (by the tub).

Oh my goodness, our old cat, Ash, made the mistake of grabbing a Mockingbird once. We thought it was hilarious when a friend or mate began tracking and attacking Ash, just like in the picture of Lizzie. But TWO WEEKS later, when it was still happening, I was like, "Come on!" I went out and yelled at the Mockingbird, and lo and behold that was it!

We get a slew of Mockingbirds and when they're nesting, watch out. They should be arriving in quantity any day now and then I get to listen to Mr. Mockingbird sit on a wire outside the house during the middle of the night singing a love song trying to find a mate.

I like the doll but she is kind of scary. Maybe a pretty dress and some makeup? :) Below is the doll I inherited from my dad's mom who died before I was born. Her name is Buttons and she was made at Danriver Mills, VA. Not sure if you remember them. Buttons supposedly went through a large sewing machine which is why she has a scar down her face and tummy.

My plan was to pass her to my DGD except when she was about 5 I took her to the closet where I had Buttons, turned on the light & Buttons was sitting high on the shelf, and DGD said, "She scares me." Oh well. lol

Ida, I meant to tell you that your cat is so pretty. Is she a certain breed?

I have no idea if this is a show me your pet thread or craft thread or what (LOL)! Oakley, I love your threads, but please be more specific next time(LOL). Sasha says Hi! We were heading to the grocery store and she’s in her car seat.

If it is a craft thread, here is what I did Friday so I could get it to DD so DGD2 could wear a couple of times before St. Patricks Day.

Tina, thanks! The girl twin wore it with pumpkins embroidered on the collar for Halloween 2 years ago. I picked those out and embroidered the shamrocks for her little sister.

I was on FB just now downloading more of my pictures to this pc and found a good one of my "horses." You know, the two that constantly drool and makes muddy paw prints on the wood floor.

The other day, I visited a botanical garden that’s been “yarnbombed.”

Just saw this. Here’s last week’s progress on my quilt. Finished the last 16 small houses, several which are family homes with their pets.

nh, is that one block of the quilt or the whole quilt? I assume from the detail, it must be the center of the whole. That is truly awesome!

Me trying to take a ten minute nap

Since this thread has gone to the dogs ;) here is our sweet Ellie. She lost an eye to glaucoma about six months ago. Last week she underwent laser surgery and had a permanent shunt placed in her remaining eye. This morning she will undergo her second laser (they take a little off, usually three time. It's better than taking off too much.) We are blessed to live near two wonderful veterinary ophthalmologist at our speciality veterinary clinic, which is where she had surgery after tearing her ACL and Meniscus two years ago. She is only 9yo and could be the poster child for why backyard breeders should be banned from owning animals. She was 5yo when we adopted, after being dumped for the second time. We had hoped her remaining eye would not show signs for 3yrs (6months to 3yrs are average times for eye meds to stop working/glaucoma to show in second eye). When we decided to move to Florida, my first search was for a vet opth (2hr drive), then my gut reaction after learning her remaining eye was going - how can we move now. She will most likely go blind sooner than later, but hopefully the laser surgery and shunt give her plenty of time to learn her way around the new house. Ellie is a leaner and a cuddlier, and loves to spoon.

Allison, you are the best dog Momma.

I had been wondering about Ellie! Hoping the laser does the trick. When we had our baby and she needed surgery, and later PT, I was never more thankful for our veterinary school!! Nothing better than a dog who cuddles ❤️

That poor sweet girl, but how lucky she is that you got her, and as someone who dealt with a dog's eyes the same as Ellie's, how lucky you are to be near the ophthalmologist.
