So today show me something you love to smell.

My house and property are small, so I have beds on each side of the house. Makes it difficult to get a “sweeping “ view of anything, although sweeping seems a bit grandiose for my gardens! Here’s the bed by the kitchen door.

Pine cone found on Mount San Jacinto last year - from a Coulter Pine Tree. From Wikipedia: <Coulter pines produce the largest cones of any pine tree species and people are advised to wear hardhats when working in Coulter pine groves), although the slender cones of the sugar pine are longer. A "Lady of the Night" orchid -- releases its scent at night only, it clears up by morning then appears again the next night, for over a month

Dracunculus vulgaris, Voodoo Lily, not a pleasant smell at all that, fortunately, only last for a few days. Notice the flies on the bloom.

My favorite ginger flower, in my back yard in Venice. The blue tropical waterlily is also fragrant, but I do not care for its fragrance at all.

'Venusta', a waterlily introduced in 1910….one of the best pink hardy waterlilies that I grow.

nickel, my MIL used to have huge crockpots full of whole heads of fermenting cabbages. The whole house and beyond smelled of it. When I make them, my husband always asks “Is someone getting married?” as they are a staple at the Ukrainian weddings here.

LOL, the smell definitely puts my husband in the polka mood.

I like very few perfumes. I left the name off in case, but this one is SO nice. I haven’t touched it much this last year. Once in a while, just for me.
