In search of a post from Ricky/Fawnridge

plllog

The subject of barbecue came up at my mother's house, and the John B cook made off with my barbecue cheat sheet from Ricky. I can't find it anywhere and I'm good at searches. It's not in my computer or iPad, and I can't find it in the forum. I've found all the rubs, but not the cheat sheet.

The post was a rundown of how to barbecue everything; beef, pork, chicken, and sauce. It's a long post but fits on one page, printed. Help!?

Thanks, Dave. I found that one. Good stuff, but not the comprehensive post I'm looking for.

I remember it. If we keep this near the top, he will eventually see it.

LOL!

Colleen, that's not the one, but certainly close, and I didn't find that yesterday. Than-you.

It isn't, but thank-you for trying!

Dave, he said he was baking before a trip, a few days ago.

Kate, that's not it—it was a CF post—but that's a fantastic page! Thanks!

Wrong Ricky, though. You gave me the notion to check Fawnridge's website. There are the rubs he's posted several times in CF there, but not the bit I'm looking for. I'm wondering if I imagined it was his post. But I have this memory of showing the print out paper to the John B guy with the endorsement that it was from an award winning bbq cook. Little suspecting the paper would disappear when he did...

Dave, you remind me of something Bill Bryson said...

I happen to have his email address. I’ve sent him a message with a link to this thread. Maybe he’ll see it. 🤞

Here's a long-shot: If you copied this Cheat Sheet on your home copier you might be able to recover it from your copier. Copiers all have "memories" and you need to be aware of this when you get rid of said copier. Ergo, if thieves can access this memory base why can't you?

Great idea! Unfortunately, it was printed on a printer with no such buffer. I would have thought it would be saved in my computer. No such luck. I've done in depth searches. Meantime, we've moved past it for the moment, and I can wait for Ricky's return.

I heard from Ricky. He is away with limited WiFi. He’ll look at this next week.

When you copied it originally, did you happen to save it in Word?

If it were saved to Word, I'd have found it.

So my new thought is it might have been the post Colleen found combined with another one. I'm going to see if I can assemble something. It was just so great having Ricky's simple instructions for barbecue everything all on one page. :)

Hi Ricky! I didn't mean to disturb your travels. I had this paper which said how to barbecue and serve a bunch of different meats. After scouring the forum and asking for help, and looking at your website, and not finding it, I think I must have combined several of your posts. I haven't found all the parts, though, of course, found your three rubs which you've so generously shared (a lot of people hold such things secret!). If you'd like to extemporize on how to barbecue everything, I certainly will Be grateful and keep better track of it, but I'm not asking you to do so. I was just trying to find something you had already posted. Thank-you!

I don't recall an actual list, but if you have some beast in particular, let me see if I can help.

Thank-you! You're very kind. Right now, there's nothing, but what I don't know about barbecue has filled many a book. :)

We cook them in a Weber kettle with indirect heat. Decarb the Kush and make a tincture that you can mix with your favorite bbq sauce.
