Very nicely done! I would not put shelves in the dining area which would stick out into the room. If you are using a grouping of smaller art pieces in the living area, I'd look for a very large piece of art for the dining room. Or a wall hung rug, or mounted piece of fabric. Something over sized that makes a statement but is still simple. You could also consider a large framed mirror, a graphic design with paint, or simple wallpaper like grasscloth that doesn't compete with the brick.

For walls I’d consider wallpaper. Always a fave.
Other ideas would include - a macrame (like those material knotted stringy art things lol) some moldings. Simple art. Family photos. ( maybe in black and white. With light wood frames) Options are endless and with a space like this I’m sure you know what your doing.

Sounds like a great plan for that blank wall.

Try moving that table from under the window, which is doing nothing to the front door area

where the stool is. Then add a mirror above it. Maybe baskets underneath for catching odds/ends. Basket on top of table for keys etc. Plus a lamp??

Plus larger rugs at both doors.

IMO only art I would not mix wallpaper with the brick wall. I do agree if a collage in the LR then one large piece in the DR. IMO a place to sit in entry is a must so I would do a console with a couple of ottomand underneath and another large piece of art. Mirrors need to reflect something worth seeing twice so be careful where you hang themIf at all possible mounte that TV ao na rm that allows you to lower it for use that is way too high . In fact if you have another space in the house for TV move it there . The rest of the spaces are lovelty and that just ruins the look of the LR IMO. Then work on some human level lighting and if possible lower the chandelier .

@Patricia Colwell Consulting I agree that the TV is high. That's why I used a mount where I could lower it while watching. (I'm also searching for pieces for the mantel so what you see in the photo is temporary). I also agree with the comment on the chandelier being high. However, when I had it lower, it got lost in the windows, if that makes sense.

@Angel 18432 You read my mind regarding the entry space. The exterior of the house is farmhouse board & batten and I want to bring that into the entry. Here's a pic of what I'm considering:

@HU-187528210 I'm a bit nervous to go with wallpaper since I have so many different textures in the house but your macramé idea jogged my memory of a piece I just saw that was an oversized canvas that I think would compliment the brick.

Your home is gorgeous. Maybe one of these original artworks would add some texture and contrast to your wall. Here are some ideas to ponder. Good luck and enjoy decor !

Here are the wall tarps that I'd like to get your opinion on for the dining area. They are 32" X 63". The length of the wall is 12'. Also, I think 1 or 2 would get a little lost. How do you feel about 3?

Three tarps would we fine in terms of size. Do you really love them? I see you like neutrals, but these still seem a little bland. Even black and white photography would give you higher contrast without adding color.

The more times I look at that brick wall in the dining area, the more I think it should be white washed. It just does not flow with the rest of the house. Sorry.

@calidesign Yup, that was my fear. I do like them but I don't think they will pop! I'll keep searching.

Thanks for the pic. Maybe you could paint the grout/mortar white to tie in with the rest of the brick.

Not a designer, so just an 'if it were mine...' do you have enough room to turn your table perpendicular to your island? It would help set that area apart visually. A rug under it, a tall plant in a wicker basket in the corner, a large canvas or the 3 suggested earlier. A triptych would look nice too. Beautiful home

@Keepthefaith MIGirl I won't be touching the brick/grout :-) but I do appreciate different points of view. What isn't obvious is that the brick that is on the wall is also on the floor in front of the slider and I didn't want light/white grout on the floor. Also, if you look closer at the brick (it's more visible in this pic), you'll see that some of the bricks are etched with city names. I didn't want the grout competing with this detail. Oh, and ignore the bat that's being used as a lock hahahaha

I think a quilt, rug, or other fabric type hanging could look great on the wall.
