I need help with decor on a small Living area.
Comments (24)I would move the wing chairs facing each other directly, so that they make a U shape with the sofa. Cushions. Put the yellow cushion on one of the wing chairs. For the other wing chair, choose another bright color from the painting and buy a cover for the black cushion. To test this look, find a scarf/tee shirt/anything to wrap the black cushion in. Leave only the matching cushions on the love seat. Bring back the plant and put it near the window, raising it slightly and centering it in the space so that it fills the corner better. Center the tripod light in its space too. I don't see a good place for your end tables. Definitely not blocking the traffic path. Take all your family photos (from the end tables and from the top of the secretary desk), and make a gallery wall where a person can walk right up to them and see them easily. Hallways are great for this. If you prefer them in this room, put them on the short wall to the left of the kitchen where you now have one small piece of art....See MoreDining Area Wall Color and Decor
Comments (9)You are obviously rocking that mid century modern vibe!!!! As for painting the wall, how about picking up one of the colors from your painting in the living room - a blue https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6794-flyway or a toned down version of the yellow https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW1667-icy-lemonade? I wouldn't go with the orange, because that's for the original mid century modern, and you've got a more neutral version of it. Another option is to go with a tan color. Keep in mind how much natural light comes into the room and how much time you spend here. Look for another wall decor piece. I like Rothko, but that's me. https://www.art.com/gallery/id--b964518/mid-century-modern-art-posters.htm?SSK=Mid%20Century%20Modern%20Art&WT.oss=Mid%20Century%20Modern%20Art&SSK_ssg=Mid%20Century%20Modern%20Art...See MoreWall decor for small dining room
Comments (5)I‘d suggest adding a window treatment to create a balanced wall and room and skip anything in between. Just bring home mirrors and test various sizes and configurations. If you don’t mind unsolicitated advice, the blue bench and settee feel awkward/impractical. If interested, provide a picture of entire room and you’ll receive helpful advice....See MoreSmall dining room wall decor
