Really like the art, too, especially stunning with that wall color choice.

You have a good start. Is there a (sunshine) reason your plant is in the corner farther from the window?

Unless you're left handed and want a reading light over your right shoulder for that reason, you might consider switching locations to put your lamp in the corner farther from the natural window light and put your larger plant and other table nearer the window.

For myself, I'd probably add a lamp to the table without a light rather than adding another plant there. I'd also not crowd the floor light with a cutting in a vase or a large object set on it -- you could use that space for your eyeglasses and whatever book you're reading and/or your tv remote.

The art and the paint color are nice and vivid. The love seat is not. It looks small and out of scale with the size of your art work and the color/tone of it is fighting with the paint color. First you need to lower the art piece about 6". your side stools are floating and not grounding the space. They would be nice as accents but don't offer enough heft as end tables. I would look for a sofa that is larger. An apartment sized sofa would work. Not as small as a loveseat but not as large as a regular sofa. I think I am seeing a lot of flowers and plants, not sure what is to the left and right of this picture. Its too cluttered. You need to eliminate the clutter. Can we see pictures from all angles to better help you?

I think it looks great! Perhaps you can put a non-wick (not real) candle on the smaller table. You could just not have the grey throw pillows and substitute for blue velvet or even some faux mohair pillow, or a red lumbar geometric to pull the red out of the pic. Or, a textured throw across the back of the sofa.

Sometimes a black frame around art can make a big impact also. But it's not 100% absolutely necessary. It might elevate the space though, just a tad.

The good news is, purchases like that are always returnable if you don't like after trying them. You did a great job! Hope this helps!

Lovely wall color. I like the art with it, and agree the piece needs to be lowered a smidge. The loveseat is too small, but if you need to work with it try these things: ditch faux plants, put floor lamp on right side of sofa (facing), place both small tables on right side (facing) - larger in back and smaller in front/to side a bit (stagger). Only use the 2 colorful pillows/not brown ones. The (now staggered) tables are too small for more than one accessory (not frames) so keep it to one, so there is room to put a drink, etc. Offset the three candles on the coffee table, so they are not centered.

Definitely get rid of any faux plants.

Also not a fan of the brown cushions on the sofa -- like the colorful ones.

If you're tall, art height is fine. One (Variable) rule of thumb: is the center of your art eye level for you as you stand in front of it? You don't want anyone to bump their head on it as they sit on your sofa.

Try different ways/places for your candles. (Myself ... If I kept the three candles and candle holders on the coffee table, I'd leave them centered. )

If you put your lamp behind your table on the right side (as someone suggested), you might try setting the candles -- at least the largest of them -- on the lamp/table instead of the coffee table. After all, with the other table in front of your lamp/table, you'd not be reaching back (awkward) to use it for anything else -- and the candles would be handy should the power go out.

I would turn the art so longest side is parallel with back of loveseat and lower to above 6” above loveseat. Remove miscellaneous flowers and accessories. I like the idea of clustering the nesting (gold) tables on left and largest plant on right. A small drink table could work on that end. I would put a gold round tray on coffee table with a stack of coasters. See how that looks.

The love seat looks too small, dropping the art a bit will help that a little. May be that a different furniture layout could better balance the scale. Can you share more pics of the whole area? That noted, the space has lots going for it.

Lowering the art is a great suggestion. The candles on the table are bothering my visual sense of harmony. The place looks a little cluttered...perhaps you can remove various items and then replace them one by one as you look to look to the harmony of the room. None of this will cost your a dime.

Isn't it a problem to block the traffic path to the sliding glass door with the wing chair?

It would be helpful if you gave us a diagram with the room dimensions, and the size of the room openings. With only 4 seats, they should be in a conversation area without a traffic path cutting through. You probably need a narrower coffee table to accomplish this. Maybe use your end tables side by side as a coffee table??

Your artwork is gorgeous, but the eye is being drawn away from it by all the other decor items. Let it shine.

Remove the end table in front of the floor lamp. Remove the glass vase of flowers on the floor. Push your drapes all the way to the end of the rods and let them hang straight down.

I suggest that the table sitting in the doorway to the kitchen may be a better height for your seating pieces than the short one by the love. Eliminate the short one, use only the lamp there, and put the one from the kitchen between the two navy wing chairs, angled opposite the love. The room is small; remove the coffee table for a more spacious feeling and less of a tendency to knock knees. Extend your drapery rod so that the drapes, when hanging straight, are over the wall and the outside frame of the windows flanking the slider. You may need to have them hemmed a bit. If you replace the love, use a 3-seat sofa. Lower the art to 5" above it. Remove any faux plants/flowers. If you are looking to hang family pix, consider blown up canvases of individuals.

I would move the wing chairs facing each other directly, so that they make a U shape with the sofa.

Cushions. Put the yellow cushion on one of the wing chairs. For the other wing chair, choose another bright color from the painting and buy a cover for the black cushion. To test this look, find a scarf/tee shirt/anything to wrap the black cushion in. Leave only the matching cushions on the love seat.

Bring back the plant and put it near the window, raising it slightly and centering it in the space so that it fills the corner better. Center the tripod light in its space too.

I don't see a good place for your end tables. Definitely not blocking the traffic path.

Take all your family photos (from the end tables and from the top of the secretary desk), and make a gallery wall where a person can walk right up to them and see them easily. Hallways are great for this. If you prefer them in this room, put them on the short wall to the left of the kitchen where you now have one small piece of art.

What about adding a live plant?

Your improvements are good. Use the larger of the end tables next to the sofa. Put the smaller end table on the other side of the chair, so it is out of the walkway. You can also scoot that chair & table a little closer to the sofa to give you more space to walk into the dining room.

Your doing great! From what I can tell there still seems to be some issue with scale. The chairs over powder the love seat size for one. Hence Flo suggestion of the glass coffee table to help ease the weight of the larger pieces in the room and I agree. I would suggest getting a properly scaled side table to anchor the corner near the sofa with a lamp. The metal stool style tables you have are not meant to be a side table but rather a table placed more to the front corner of furniture for drinks etc. I would use them as such in an effort to ease the large proportions of the wing chairs. If you cant do a new coffee table bring in a mirrored tray and display some white and colorful items on it to tie the painting into the space. This is a VERY rough rendition to give you an idea.
