2020 Color Threads: WHITE or NEARLY WHITE Roses
Comments (35)Wow this thread is so incredibly dreamy!!! Every single rose is gorgeous. Wouldn’t it be absolutely incredible if there was a climbing bolero ?!?! I’d pay an arm for it . Well not my arm .. someone else’s arm . Lol Tammy your bolero photo made me think how wonderful it wood be if it could climb with nahema . A fragrant masterpiece to knock you down! tina ; do you love pure perfume? I have it coming from j and p. So excited! Dave your desdemona is amazing!!! What a beautiful rose . Sara Ann I need moonstone . I e always wanted it . Now is as good a time as ever . I’m calling Edmunds to either add it or sub out a Colette . Dianela , your moonstone is so pretty too. Comments (52)Brad you are absolutely correct . Thanks for pointing that out . I have removed the image from the post . It is no doubt a result of either my dogs tearing up the tag and someone just plunking one where ever or tag was chewed up with the lawnmower and hubby found a loose tag and put it there . I will have to dig the plant up come spring as I have a name tag planted under every plant so I dont end up with a noid as a result of any mishap . I learned my lesson the hard way years ago so now I put a tag under a plant , plant tag in the ground at 3 oclock when facing the plant and the tag that you see as you walk along the gardens....See MoreFavorite Bitones and Bicolors of 2020
Comments (25)All of these are beautiful. I do love a good bitone. Simple Charming is such a beauty. It's too bad that it's not readily available. The Salters just do not list their older varieties on their webside. Stephanie Returns is another that catches my eye. I am intrigued by reverse bicolors. We grow quite a few but I don't have the time right now to post very many. I am posting the ones that are new to the garden this year. I will post more later. Una de Gato was planted fall of 2019 and came through the winter fine. For those who know Spanish, the translation is Cat's Claw. There should be that little squiggly line over the n but for some reason the database can't include it. Impassioned was new this spring. I think it is a very pretty rose pink. Kerfuffle was also new this season. It is a small flower and a reverse bicolor. I am really excited about this one. Call off the Search was not new this year. It's a good performer here. I'll post some more later. Nancy...See MoreFavorite Watermarked Daylilies of 2020
Comments (21)Nancy - You have quite a Davisson collection going there. Tahiti Sweetie and Abby Davisson appeal to me, mainly because I don't have anything that looks like them. I have Mister Mayor and High Watermark, and really like those.. Make It Snappy has fabulous color in your photo, but it doesn't look like a UF in your photo. It strikes me as more of a tweener. Is Loud Girls a new one for you? I like its looks too. Here's one of my Davissons I haven't posted yet: Confessions of a Hemaholic - It's multiplied well but was still much shorter than it should be with low bud count. It's planted next to a white, so I suspect grubs were the problem. I like its looks, and I got some seeds from it that I'm excited about. Mister Mayor was new for me as a single fan this year.. Is yours new too? I wish it had those blue colors that Celeste's has. I think I'll be wowed by it when it clumps up a bit. . Debra...See Morehoosier_nan (IN z5b/6a)
