Please help with exterior paint color and door!
Comments (3)Ummm.... what parts are stucco, that 2nd triangle section from the right? I honestly think your colors look excellent as is. If you lighten that triangular piece its going to stick out like a sore thumb - do you really want that? Right now it recedes and your eye isnt drawn to it, the lovely brickwork has more prominence. I do agree however that your door area could use some attention but the red door is all you need (definitely stain it if its currently unpainted - a classier finish IMHO) . If you start adding in more or different trim colors Im not sure what that accomplishes except adds visual clutter....See MorePlease help with exterior paint color - for TUE!!
Comments (8)Really nice home. Glad you're not contemplating painting the brick. Just a thought; Sometime before you redo your roof, you might consider creating a porch -- open or screened or sun room -- on one side of the back of your home so you have the option of either porch or patio for indoor/outdoor living/entertaining. Your siding choice suggests you're planning on brown/tan roofing in the future? Your trim appears to indicate you're matching the current gray roof? Though I like the colors you're considering, I'm not sure they'll go great together and, as a pairing, I like your current colors better-- and your current colors go really well with both the brick and the roof. For siding and trim, my personal preference, unless there is a reason to go with white or black, is to use two shades of the essentially same color -- often (depending upon the colors being used -- especially if one color is really dark) with the darker color being the trim so as to not darken the vibe of the home too much. Please post after pics and let us know how your project turns out....See MorePlease HELP with exterior paint colors! Need to pick ASAP!
Comments (9)@decoenthusiaste LOL! I regretted the 'modern farmhouse' when I wrote it. I think I mean a monochrome look, darker overall, with siding, trim and fascia all one color. I am just not into the white highlighter outline look so many are doing. Want to be ahead of the trend and stand out. However, I am so afraid to get it 'wrong.' We did choose a roof color that pulls all the brick colors together. It's an overall medium to darker gray, with hints of warmth and black through. We would ideally like to avoid coating the brick. We would consider after, if it looks bad. We would really like to keep it and roll with it. The garage doors will be converted to one larger door, but yes, there is brick between, with a strip of hideous siding above currently. All to be redone. Unfortunately, we are headed into winter and the siding color needs to be selected this week, or we push to next year...and we just don't want to do that....See MoreCan you please help with exterior paint colors?
Comments (4)Maybe paint or limewash the brick (look into pro’s and con’s) and paint the house the same shade. https://www.greysnaildesigns.com/limewash-your-brick-house With your roof’s color, perhaps a dark grey or black front door and garage would work well....See MoreMelissa R
