Paint Home Decorating Design Dilemma

Please help with exterior paint color and door!

We're about to repaint our exterior. Was thinking we could go with same/similar color scheme. I have thought about lightening the beige EIFS/stucco color to maybe more of a cream or light greige. I have also thought about lightening the trim around the door and painting/staining the door a shade of red (roof has burgundy tone). Advice? Thoughts? Painting starts tomorrow and all of a sudden I'm changing my mind about everything! Please help!

Yes to lightening the stucco to a lighter shade of greige. Would look FABULOUS with a red door. Dont' second guess!

Ummm.... what parts are stucco, that 2nd triangle section from the right? I honestly think your colors look excellent as is. If you lighten that triangular piece its going to stick out like a sore thumb - do you really want that? Right now it recedes and your eye isnt drawn to it, the lovely brickwork has more prominence.

I do agree however that your door area could use some attention but the red door is all you need (definitely stain it if its currently unpainted - a classier finish IMHO) . If you start adding in more or different trim colors Im not sure what that accomplishes except adds visual clutter.

Lovely home (& landscaping)! Grey and black would be too "expected" for me. Being from SC, I'm particularly fond of Charleston Green - it's a very dark, almost black/green. However, eggplant could be rather exciting - you'd probably want it fairly dark as not to read purple. For your secondary door, perhaps paint it white dove so that it doesn't detract from your main entry.

Thanks again, this is really starting to come together. If we went with a sage with the creamish trim like the one posted by housegal200, would it look weird if we have white windows? The reim. Could be cream, but you would still see some of the white window frame. They are not checkered windows or anything like that, but they are white.

I'm in the never paint brick camp because it's just a maintenance hassle. Working with what you have, sage green would be pretty for the door; it coordinates with the peachy brick. (Runner up: Smokey Blue-Grey to coordinate back to the roofing.) When you do eventually change the roof, pick a color that coordinates with the brick so they look like they are more brothers than distant cousins. As the landscaping matures, you'll be on the right track.

Just a quick update to say I chose paint colors! I went with Miller Paints (only in the PNW). A for the body of the house, B for the main trim, C for the mullions. Also took an updated photo of my house to share for those of you who commented on the vines on the trellises on my house. (Still lots more vegetation to get under control before painting, but it is a constant process!) I'll share an update when the painting is completed, but it will be awhile. I work more than full time, have lots of weekend getaways planned for the summer, and the prep work is going to be incredibly time-intensive (but important)! Just need to get it all painted before the rain starts in the fall. Thank you all for sharing your suggestions and opinions! (Please excuse the hose, garden watering was underway!)
