Amazon Prime Day Deals 2018
Comments (30)After reading a thread on a different board about people’s orders arriving the next day while others not getting theirs until next week (some had split delivery), I checked my order. Instead of two-day Prime shipping, my order is set to arrive “some time by 8pm” by tomorrow night. I called to complain and apparently, despite when I placed the order it said on the order page free 2-day Prime shipping” arriving Thursday, the hair scrunchies, also Prime, were from a 3rd party seller so that held up delivery. Because I complained that this was misleading (I would not have ordered the scrunchies at the same time had I known it would delay my shipment), they extended my Prime membership for a month. What is annoying is that on the order page, it specifically said “Free 2-Day shipping” and arrives by Thursday for all three items I ordered. It wasn’t until after the order was placed that they changed the delivery date and put the new delivery date in the confirmation email. Normally I wouldn’t care but it’s being delivered by USPS (notoriously unreliable as has been discussed on this board in the past) instead of by UPS. Not to mention that I’m home all day/night today but am going out of town tomorrow around 5pm.....if that Paperwhite doesn’t come before then I will be extremely annoyed!...See MoreAmazon bait and switch prime delivery dates?
Comments (34)This bait and switch with promised delivery is now built into Amazon's infrastructure. They promise a nice short 2 day prime delivery date when you order it, they never give you notice that the delivery date changed, and then when you want to complain they blame it on Covid-19. It is complete BS. They've incorporated this excuse into their system. They will say, that the clock on the promised two-day delivery doesn't start till the product is shipped, but it takes them two days or more to ship the product! So they never disclose this before you order! They blame it on Covid-19 and not having enough people to work their warehouses, but Bezo's added more than $70 Billion to wealth during this epidemic! If they offered enough money as pay, they would have the personnel they need to move your product on-time!...See MoreAmazon Prime has all but disappeared.....a sort of rant I guess...
Comments (99)Madilee, I ordered from Chewy last week because we were running low on cat litter, and I also ordered enough to qualify for the 2 day shipping. Well, it's been almost a week and I still haven't gotten confirmation that it's being shipped. I tried to get it from Walmert-but they were out at my local store. Thought I'd try Amazon, but the only litter they had that my cats will use was not only more expensive than in the stores, but it also was about 10 days out. I had also ordered some canned cat food-they kind my cats prefer was out, so I had to get a 3rd choice. I ordered some baking soda for the cat boxes-since we can't empty them, just clean them out until we get more litter, and a case of strawberry jam, because I didn't feel like going to the grocery store. The canned food came within a day, the baking soda two days later-still no idea when the jam will arrive. Meanwhile hubby has PB & Honey sandwiches. I'd ordered a new desk chair since my old desk chair was not designed to be used for 8+ hours a day-oh my poor hind end! Amazon said it would arrive in 10 days (even though it was Prime) but it arrived 2 days later. I did order some outdoor toys for my grands through Walmart-a bounce house/ball pit, extra balls for the ball pit, and a covered sand table. They all said they'd deliver between 4/10 and 4/17. The balls showed up on Monday, and the sand table arrived yesterday. Still no idea when the ball pit will show up, I've not gotten a tracking # on that, but if I go back on the website it says if I order it to be delivered to the store it will be there in a week. I'm trying to be patient, I feel fortunate that I have the means to order things on line and I can pay a premium if necessary, but sometimes it does get frustrating. I'm unable to order normal groceries on line for either delivery or pick up. And Costco.com is sold out of almost everything I need. So I'm going to have to venture in to the store. But back to the OT, I have Prime and am ok with the delays. My Prime membership also includes free streaming, so that is worth it to us since DH is running out of shows on Netflix. Finally, GS-was it you who ran out of paper towels for pet messes? I purchased a couple dozen cheap bar towels for pet messes. We were going through a lot of paper towels when our cat with IBS was still alive, and it was my preference to do laundry rather than throw out so much paper. Costco often carries them, and in a pinch you can get them at Walmart as well. Check Amazon, too. I just ordered two dozen plain cloth reusable 'paper' towels off Etsy to use in my kitchen. I have a roll that are flannel & terry that are getting so worn out-we use them all the time....See MoreLooking for a New Netflix or Amazon Prime Series to Watch
Comments (101)I admit watching good TV is one of my favorite hobbies, and I look forward to checking out these recommendations. I second Episodes with Matt Lablanc. I also loved Enlightened on HBO with Laura Dern, quirky character and heartwarming. I also enjoyed Jimmy Carter Rock n Roll President on Netflix (I'm a Georgian) and the documentary Crip Camp, a great story about birth of disability rights movement....See Moresleevendog (5a NY 6aNYC NL CA)
