I would bring paint chips home with me that I think work and look at them with the granite or go to a paint store that has a computer (90% will have) and get them to google your granite and give you recommendations. Use a paint store with a decorator.

I have read I should choose a shade lighter than what I think I need since Like the phrase "it's just paint", the color advice that you should choose a shade lighter than what you 'think' you need  or like  are two of the dumbest things people say about paint and color. Lighter value and less intensity are two separate parts of color altho interdependent. Having the color mixed lighter is not necessarily guaranteed to deliver less intense. It's complicated. Here's a link that explains what I mean. Light/dark value and intensity or satuation Cotton Blossom is very pretty. If you like the color and you've tested the color, then maybe you should trust you're initial reaction and disregard what you've read. :~D I would not anticipate Cotton Blossom taking on an intense and over-the-top, in-your-face yellow affect like other yellows you have read about. My guess is it will end up looking like a stick of butter or what most people would call a buttercream color.

Gray Owl looks greenish to me, too...and that's the danger of recommending or looking at colors online, sadly. However, the guidelines can help... For example, the picture above with all the "grays"? To me: Top row are gray, second row are beige with the exception of repose gray which I find gray/green. Third row, I would classify as green with the exception of aloof gray witch, again, looks like repose gray...a gray/green. So it's all about perception and monitors :-/ It sounds to me like you "did" beige and this time out want gray. Nothing wrong with that. It's just paint. So find a gray that's acceptably warm to you, while still looking gray. Off to the paint store with you! Or, find a "white" that leans warmer...

Want to lighten the space," When you want to make a dramatic change in paint color, the most reliable way to choose new paint, without color reflections cast by the current paint color, is to start with priming the walls with white primer. You may need two or three coats. Then open the blinds, turn on the lights, and put up new samples. Look at the samples in daylight and at night for a couple days. If you are getting new lighting, install it before making your final choice.
