This forum steered me to Maria Killam's decorating site and her warnings about considering the undertones of elements you combine in a room. From her examples I can see why this is critical if you don't want one color looking dingy beside another.

I am considering painting my kitchen cabinets as part of a mini remodel (forced by needing to replace a broken stove.) The granite on my island and countertops has to stay, and I am having a hard time determining what its undertones are. If you search Google Images for Golden Leaf granite, the middle photo in the 3rd row is the best representation of what I have.

By its name, one would presume the undertones are yellow/golden, but I'm detecting some pink. My floors are golden oak, if you think that tips the balance.

I would appreciate any help those of you who have an eye for color might offer.
