gray hair solution?
Comments (19)It sounds like what's going on is that you have already colored it, and would now like to stop. If so, that's a different kettle of fish than most folks here have suggested. I agree w/ the suggestion to use a temporary hair coloring (some wash out in about a month) to keep the silver roots from showing so strongly. And w/ the idea of investigating the "foiling" to blend in several colors. Those might give you more time until you can just go back to ignoring it. I'v'e realized I'm getting MUCH more gray. I don't really want to mess w/ coloring it, and I sure don't want to create a situation where I have gray roots to deal with. But I toy every now and then w/ the idea of coloring it myself w/ a temporary fix just before big events....See Moregray hair - how can I
Comments (23)I wish my hair would turn that nice bright white that Moni and Glenda enjoy! But, no, I have the same 'grey rat' color along with some pure white that Jan is complaining about. My mother and both grandmothers had that too. I also have a weird clump of my original dark brown that's never lost color; it's right in front, above my right eye. Even if the rest of my hair did turn white, I'd look like a 'reverse skunk', thanks to that stripe. So, until they invent something to make ALL my hair a nice white...I'm at the hairdresser every five weeks, getting my hair colored light brown and inhaling those wicked chemicals....See MoreAs we age...going from dark hair to light. Comments (63)Thank you all! I keep going back and forth on like and not sure. I think after I learn how to fix it my way where it will look a bit messier and less wiggy I'll like it just fine. My son said he thought it made me look a little older. Yikes! So, that is haunting me. I do think it just needs a little rebel Terri touch. Annie you are so lucky to have that hair! PLF, my mom had pretty gray hair. I'm not ready yet but when the time comes it will be nice not to have to put chemicals on my head....See MoreFrom Dark Hair to Naturally Gray - How do you do it?
Comments (91)I know those who are gray might disagree but ......you can look good with gray no doubt, but you do look "older." While in a career, this might not be the best approach. Whether I am gray or not (I am) this makes me sad and angry regardless of whether it's true or not. Like so many other things, when will it change? Part of the power of change lies with us and the willingness to plow ahead and allow visual aging to actually happen. I colored my hair forever and just got sick of the constant upkeep to say nothing of the constant chemical exposure. I wear makeup every day, I style my hair pretty much every day, I work out, I care about the clothes I wear (although I'm far from a fashionista) and take care of my skin, hair, nails etc. so obviously am not saying we shouldn't care about our looks. Hair color is just another way to enhance or change our looks but NOT using it should not keep someone from a desired career any more than choosing not to wear nail polish or mascara should. When are we (people in general but women far more) ever going to be valued for what we bring to the table in talent and experience?...See More- 3 years ago
