Help With Hanging Entry Mirror and Entry Table Arrangement
Comments (10)I think you need to decide if the mirror is for primping, or just for a design statement. If you look at many foyer pix, including a couple here, the mirror is practically covered up by a larger floral arrangement directly in front of it. It is not about checking your lipstick. The reason I mention it is because I think the mirror needs to hang on the lower 2/3 of the wall space between the light and the tabletop - and likely that will make it a bit low for some people to use for grooming purposes. I think the box is nice, and can certainly sit in front of the mirror a bit. I think the floral piece is way too casual and rustic for the other pieces in the group, and also disappears as the color of the vase is almost identical (at least in the pix) to the color of the table. I would rather see you find an interesting pair of antique brass or black iron urns to place on either side of the mirror, and fill with taller greenery and branches to add volume on either side of the mirror. The paired urns would also add a more formal feel there. Consider adding a decorative mirror hanger and cording to give the mirror more vertical presence....See MoreDesign Faux Pas at entry? Comments (17)Chisue, The walkway width is 3.5ft, we considered making it 5ft wide but now we are thinking that 3.5ft will do. Stairs are also 3.5ft wide. Ours is a ~2200 sqft house, 2 stories, with first level footprint of ~1150 sqft, and I think at this proportion we do not need 5ft width (any thoughts?). JDS, Currently my idea is to have a bench or floating shelf like in the image I am attaching here. If not then we will keep a small stool there. The closet will hide the shelves for shoes....See More'Real Feel' Faux Florals - garland

Comments (18)Here are some pictures. I measured the walls . They are pretty much the same lenghth wise. i have the round mirror at the fireplace side and hence dont want to keep another mirror on the walls. Plus I don't need a seat / ledge / storage space etc, as we use our garage mostly for in and out. We use this entrance mostly for guest access . But I do want to make this space appealing for the eyes, as it very close to our living space the couch. We are kind of very happy with the living space but i am unsure of the entrance space, wall art , rug etc. I am only looking to beautify the space ,as primary function :) and it's important to me. I would have loved to create a grand rug entry space but i am afraid there is not much space between couch area and door entrance. It's just a few steps away.. I would like to infact remove anything that i have currently in the entrace space / move it around with your inputs. PS - we recently bought the rug for the blue couch, so I am afraid I cant change it just yet. Thank you...See MoreRelated Professionals
