Need roof color for modern white farmhouse now!
Comments (18)i was really happy with Shoji White. It's a great white. Not too yellow. Part of me wants to use it on the house we are building now but another part of me wants to try something new. I'm looking at overcast by Ben Moore. Here's Ballet White by Ben Moore, also very pretty, but since this house in our neighborhood has it, i will not "copy". another i was told to check out is westhighland white by Sherwin Will. This a great looking farmhouse/guesthouse/garage structure. so pretty https://www.houzz.com/photos/rj-elder-design-traditional-garage-phvw-vp~80000-Elder-Design-traditional-garage-and-shed-other-metro...See MoreMini Reveal- farmhouse modern and plea for lighting ideas
Comments (41)Thanks for asking about an update. You are all too kind. I am still in love with my kitchen but, alas, still not finished. I did find my over the island fixture- and I love it, but its arrival has made me less in love with my sconces. I am now in the process of trying out replacements. So far one is sitting in my sunroom, deemed to large, one is en route from Schoolhouse Electric. I did do a Mostly Done post, which I updated this AM with pictures of the island light and I have linked it below Here is a link that might be useful: Localeater's Kitchen -Mostly Done post...See MoreLiving Room Design/Layout Ideas (Modern Farmhouse)
Comments (2)Don't put the TV over the fireplace. Your necks will thank you, and you've got a great spot for it on the back of the garage wall. I also wouldn't buy a sectional. It will limit your furniture arrangements and no one ever sits in the corner anyway. Two sofas or a sofa and chairs are much more versatile, and the kids are going to want to lay all over the floor and on poufs....See MoreWhite or Black Windows for Modern Farmhouse Style
Comments (39)@BT Great question and not to hijack this thread but since you asked: The hip roof has long span trusses and girders. My entire design was a slight overkill since we are also in a siesmic region. I wanted vast open span living and garage spaces with no posts or visible supports. Even though I subsequently enlisted a top local engineering company for their final design and stamp, I upgraded foundation and roofing members. The same design went into our 55' long and deep garages, creating a sense of open and free space. The foundation was another piece of engineering where I chose a post and pier foundation in the 5' high crawl space, and boy is it solid; it contributes to an extremely solid floor, on slab like foundation feel in the entire home....See MoreDesign Girl
