Thanks for asking about an update. You are all too kind. I am still in love with my kitchen but, alas, still not finished. I did find my over the island fixture- and I love it, but its arrival has made me less in love with my sconces. I am now in the process of trying out replacements. So far one is sitting in my sunroom, deemed to large, one is en route from Schoolhouse Electric. Amanda, I am Neha from Styldod. Like all the others who have commented, I'd recommend a new couch for this space. The one you have is eating away a lot of space. Your options for furniture placement are rather limited. With 4 kids, no amount of storage is enough. A storage bench by the door and an end table with storage could help with clutter. I'd also recommend an ottoman as a coffee table so you can use it as seating if required. The shelf above the couch can be removed and you could make a gallery wall with paintings and pictures rather than having them hang everywhere. The images below are estimated to scale for your room based on the photos you shared, but it is very important that you share accurate measurements of your room. In this second design, I suggest a console at the entrance where a couple of low stools/ ottomans can be stored when not in use. You could do away with the kids' table and use these ottomans as seating for them. Also, a tall bookcase may be useful in a small space like this. Open cube storage is a great idea when you have kids running around. I would keep that nice armchair in the corner and would try to maximize the storage areas, so your kids have more room to play. First start some idea books that is what helps us understand what you like. Also we need more pictures a floor plan done to scale , a list of things you don’t like about the kitchen Are you getting new appliances and even if not we need the sizes of those . I will say it is best to live with the space for awhile before doing anything, that gives you time to see how the house works for you. It is surprising sometimes that what you think will happen in the space just doesn’t . IMO the min. amount of time is 3 months of living in the space.I assume these are the realtor pics and not your furniture.

I like the fireplace as is, and a warm white on the walls would enhance fireplace and all of the wood.. I would go warmer than this. Benjamin Moore’s Ballet White or Swiss Coffee could be possibilities. I like BM’s Natura Line. As far as furniture placement, I think 2 seating areas. One option, instead of sofa, etc. could be a center cocktail table or ottoman with four chairs. Or if you would rather have a sofa arrangement. I would put a small scaled sofa on the wall facing windows. And if there is to be a tv in the space, I would place it on long, low console in front of windows. Additional seating by fireplace, but I have not yet figured out what would be best there. A chair or two, I think. Perhaps a chaise.
