Delta Touch2o kitchen faucet-essa, issue when dishwasher running

Having an issue with a delta touch kitchen faucet, single handle pull down, with Touch 2o tech, with the optional electrical plug in. It works perfectly fine, except when the dishwasher is running. Then when you touch it, it will either work, need multiple touches or it does not work and you have to wait a couple of seconds and try again. The faucet was replaced, the electrical plug in option was replaced, neither fixed the issue. At the time, a new outlet was put in under the sink to accommodate the new faucet. The old dishwasher was hard wired, so an outlet was added behind the dishwasher and a line was run under the sink for the faucet. If I use an extension cord and plug it into another outlets in the kitchen it works fine. So it must be related to the outlet. The batteries are still inserted. Taking them out, doesn't make a difference. A professional electrician looked at it, but he was not familiar with the touch faucets. He didn't think it pulled enough electric to make that me the problem. Our contractor thought a new line should be run. but the electrician didn't think so. I don't know anything about electricity. Is running a new line the only option, or any one have any other suggestions? I do like the touch technology, so don't want to change.

Most likely it has nothing whatsoever to do with the "amount of power." The amount of power used by these things is negligible (and backed up by the battery anyhow). The touch faucets use a tuned radio circuit to detect when you touch them. Most likely something in the dishwasher is causing radio interference with the thing.

I might try some "snap on chokes" (google it, they are readily available). I'd put them both on the dishwasher power cord and your "battery eliminator" for the faucet. If that doesn't work, have you tried reaching out to DELTA? I suspect they may have had this issue before.

Yes, the plumber that installed it and reinstalled the new set, called them. They told him to plug it in to a different socket to see if it worked. We plugged it into 3 different ones and it worked fine when the dishwasher was running. Said if it worked in a different plug in while the dishwasher was running the faucet wasn't the issue. I do not know if any of the 3 plug ins we used are tied into the same line as the dishwasher. Have never heard of a snap on choke. I'll mention that to them. Would rather find an easier solution than running a new line. Thank you.

I have the Delta Addison kitchen touch 2. The faucet has never functioned properly since it was installed. It turns itself on and off and sometimes you have to squeeze the battery pack to get it working. I absolutely hate this faucet and would never purchase another one. It makes working in the kitchen a very frustrating experience. Now for some unknown reason it only delivers half the water spray so there is no pressure. This is a very bad product Delta and I am a very unhappy customer.

We used Rohl’s Perrin & Rowe lineup in our bathroom reno and couldn’t be happier. Exposed thermostatic shower system, sink faucet and tub filler for claw foot tub and a whole host of accessories. The quality is tangible. We had a minor issue with the diverter valve in the shower (it worked, but it didn’t feel smooth) which Vintage Tub & Bath replaced, no questions asked. Fortunately it was an easy fix on the exposed shower (a few unions). And Rohl’s polished nickel finish is exquisite Now were doing our kitchen and another bathroom and we keep going back to Rohl. We’ve found few options which tickle our fancy and the ones we have, (Lefroy Brooks, Graff, etc.) we’re unsure of the quality. Being a car guy, I like car analogies: A Lexus LS460 is in the same class and possesses most of the same features as a Mercedes S550, BMW 7-Series or Audi A8, and may even give you less problems than the German marques, but a Lexus will never have that same “carved from billet” feel.

None of these scare stories have happened to me. I’ve had mine for almost 2 years. I leave it set on medium hot. If you need to adjust the temp, you can always at least clean your hands first, then move the lever to change temp. I pretty much only need to change it if I want cold water for coffee pot, etc, in which case my hands aren’t dirty! Ours has never turned itself on. I can’t understand why so many people who have never tried one are so negative. If you cook, you get dirty hands and it’s a great feature. It is very simple to use manually if you prefer. It turns itself off automatically after a few minutes, so no risk of it overflowing or something.

Thank you everyone for your advice and recommendations. I think I found a solution, I will switch to Delta Essa (although I still prefer the look of Kohler Bellara better, but function over style). I confirmed with Delta customer service that the handle on Essa only moves forward (and to the side), so it will solve my issue. Essa Touch2O Technology Single-Handle Pull-Down Essa Single-Handle Pull-Down Now, anyone has experience with this faucet? Is it worth getting the more expensive version with Touch technology, or should I just stick with a regular one? Thanks in advance!

Can I ask what you figured out? I have the same issue. New dishwasher qnd now my touch 2.0 is doing this.

The contractor didn't want to spend any more time on it, so he told the electrician to just run another line, but run a new one directly to the box this time. We didn't have to pay for it, so I was fine with whatever they did as long as it worked.
