Kitchen faucet technology similar to Delta Touch2o?
Comments (8)I had the Delta Touch20 faucets in my last kitchen (main sink and bar) and they were awesome. In five years I only changed one set of batteries and they worked flawlessly. I need this setup because my daughter is short statured and she can reach to touch the faucet but not the handle (unless we move it, but we are probably not going that way as it would require a cabinet redesign). We are doing our new kitchen and I really like the look of the Ladylux, but I have two potential concerns after looking at the documentation and wanted to run these by the group. 1) The install looks pretty complicated versus the Delta. Is that the case? 2) Is it battery operated or a plug in? And if battery operated, what are people's experience in how long the batteries last? 3) Probably most importantly, is the entire faucet touch sensitive? I need the very tip to be sensitive as my daughter cannot reach the top or back. It looked like the end of the faucet may not be touch sensitive per a diagram I saw in the Grohe manuals. 4) What is the quality of the Grohe versus the Delta? Thanks for your advice! Comments (14)For those of you who have them, are there really that many times when you feel the need to turn on the faucet without touching it, or is it that it is just such a cool, new feature that you want? Even when my hands are messy, I can easily turn on my faucet with the clean part of my hand, usually the top side of my hand, so there is no desire to pay the premium price for the faucet, or to feed the faucet with batteries just to have this feature. Am I missing something? Maybe it's that not once in my whole life of using a kitchen faucet have I thought to myself, "Hey, if only I could turn on my faucet without touching it, now that would be grand!" However, if they invent something that prevents those awful water spots in a stainless steel sink, I'm first in line! I don't care how often I have to replace the batteries!...See MoreBrizo Talo Smart Touch Kitchen Faucet
Comments (1)Hello, While I cannot directly answer any of your three questions abut the specific product, I just wanted to add my two cents' worth: I am inclined to agree with your husband about anything with "smart touch" technology. In my experience, ANY piece of equipment -- be it an appliance, fixture, car, machine, or gadget -- that has additional high-tech features will ultimately require more maintenance for those very same "smart" features. IMHO, if money is a consideration (as it almost always is) then buy the best medium to medium-high grade product with the least amount of additional features. I find that simpler is usually better in the long run. Best of luck -- Mamiam...See MoreTouchless or touch-on kitchen faucet

Delta's finish is fine but it's more of a pale/rose gold/bronze not a matte brass look which is what I had hoped for when we ordered it so keep that in mind. @dormelles had no idea they had to be turned on at the handle!? so confused! so what is the point of it being touchless!? the batteries I don't mind so much but having to use the handle seems to defeat the point correct!? I think I'd actually prefer the touch-on ones since those seem more reliable - I just imagine having to wave my chicken-gut covered hands all over the place hoping it turns on the way u do sometimes at public restrooms...See Moretozmo1
