Hi Amy! That's cute! Well, since you asked... I don't have a good imagination, so I bought an inexpensive software package at Lowe's that lets you download your own photos & do a very crude photoshop with the particular paints sold at the store. I tried the ones that were close to Silver Sage & wasn't crazy about them. I tried many others. Long story short, I didn't like anything as much as the "queen," except for medium to dark beiges, taupes & browns. However,while the ivory curtains & chairs would pop & a dramatic effect would be created in the LR painted brown, all my wood furnishings in the DR would be lost & the effect would be dull & drab. I did the exercise you suggested too. I'm very fond of the pink at night as it turns into a "non-color" & just sort of glows & feels very warm, soft & neutral, but somehow has a little excitement. In the day it just feels very muted & not so exciting. I really love the drama & impact of the B & B rooms. Understated is good, but I also appreciate a little "wow" factor, & don't know how to achieve that with this palette. Reds & golds like my den colors are so much easier to make a statement with! I had a similar color scheme in my last kitchen. All white cabinetry with seeded glass uppers. Counters and backsplash were marble slabs. Floor was a very dark coffee stain. I also had an oak butcherblock counter from Ikea that I adored. I didn't stain it because I wanted to use it as a work surface. It held up remarkably well! The cabinets below were painted a color called french pear. Sort of a yellow/green/grey I included a link that has a similar color with butcherblock. There's only one pic that shows the island well so you may have to hunt a bit. As for perimeter counters I always think soapstone or paperstone looks nice with white cabinets. They both have this matte finish to them that makes them absorb light in this lovely soft way so that the difference between the black and white is less stark. If you want something lighter you could always go with a quartz or stone that resembles marfil marble or limestone in a honed finish. I just went back to HomeSense and picked up two more rugs. They are softer blends. I agree with you. The bright teal is actually just a pillowcase I took from my stepson for now. But I have a soft blue teal sheets and my drapes have a greyish teal as well. Ill see if these work... hard to see but one has a bit of teal in it the other is more of a stone blue... I wanted the others to work because one of the rugs was over $1000 and marked down to $150!!!
