Locked out of my Facebook Account

I tried to sign into my Facebook as usual and all of a sudden it says I am locked out! I never post anything even slightly controversial and I was not involved in any arguments etc. with anyone. My last picture was of a rhubarb pie I baked!! I am totally mystified about it all. There was a process to follow if you wanted a review for a reinstatement and I followed it but then they have a sentence saying because of the Pandemic there are too few stuff to do the reviews!! Wow! Has this happened to anyone else?

Which browser were you using? Have you tried a different browser? If no, try Google Chrome.

They have a minimum age limit. Maybe you're not old enough yet ? Make a new email account at your favorite online free email company, Try again - lie about your age, all the kids do that - lots of older kids these days in 5th and 6th grades. 20 and more years old even. I guess schools don't have a maximum age limit :)

So who has a facebook account?

I too have a Facebook account...I really enjoy it! Long lost friends have been able to find me as well as relatives that otherwise may not have. Some of the friends found me thru a "Classmates" site....high school days from the 70's,so maybe that is how your friend found you,Wanda, only thru the hobby account...anywhere that your email address may be,ppl that use Facebook can make a connection. Go to your Facebook acct., click on "home" in the top right corner of that first page...that gives you the news updates on the list of friends that you have..you will have a list, given time.(I will send a connection to you thru my Facebook once I am thru here, just so you can get a little start) You can then view my page,AFTER you accept me as a friend..thats the thing with Facebook, should anyone that you do not know try to connect with you,you do not have to accept. Once you are in my page, you can see any and everything that I have on it. As far as what you put on your Face acct., that is entirely up to you...it IS a little confusing at first, but so are most forums or sites that are new to us. Another little word of advice,if you have Mozilla/Firefox,Facebook wil work better..without it,it can be slow and even more confusing only because it works more like plain old dial up. Watch for a new email that tells you that someone has invited you to Facebook Wanda..that will be me! Above all, have fun!

How to sign out of Facebook on my Android???

What does "sign-out" mean to you? You most certainly can close any app - then it's not running - would that suffice? The paradigm of apps on a smartphone or tablet is a bit different than using a browser to sign on to a webpage with a PC. As far as speed of input, have you tried voice input (press the microphone icon when you see it)? Or, the Swiftkey/Swype approach where you keep your finger down on the keyboard but move it quickly from letter to letter and it gives you choices for what you spelled. i can do either nearly as fast or faster as typing on a full size keyboard but it did take some practice.

Locked out of Apple Tablet

Walnut, I forget the phrase that the newer iPad uses, but when it goes through the set-up menu... just choose the option to 'do it later'... or some words to that effect. It will take you all the way through the set-up without the passcode being set. Now, I realize I'm recommending this course of action, so I will include a disclaimer of sorts... bypassing the passcode will make your iPad usable to anyone who picks it up. As you are learning, if your iPad is stolen, the passcode can be bypassed any way. So, if you have sensitive data, and you choose to skip the passcode set-up, be sure to only leave your tablet around people you trust. One thing that I make sure of, is that granddad never checks the boxes for secure sites to "Remember This Device". And one more thing to help... a lot of people prefer the apps or security setting to automatically 'Locate My iPad'. If stolen, a good app will tell you right where it is at. It too can be bypassed, but this is often a good choice if followed quickly. 'Locate my Device' can also have password protection, but since it takes a bit of work to break into, most people will take too long to shut it down and if you are reasonably quick at searching, you can find it using the app. You could also just write your passwords down, but make sure you tell a trusted person where your codes are hidden.

Did you go directly to your Facebook login page, or did you get an email that said you were locked out and you clicked on a link in that email?

I went directly to my Facebook page.

Okay...that's what I hoped. Perhaps you realized why I asked: there are a lot of scam and phishing emails that claim your account is locked and they steal your credentials when you attempt to log in using the "handy" link they provide.

Never had that happen. If it said your account was disabled and you filled out the form for reinstatement you will just have to wait for Facebook to let you in again. Mary

My first thought was that perhaps someone (you or a hacker) had tried unsuccessfully to login your account "n" times and your account was temporarily disabled.

But...

"There was a process to follow if you wanted a review for a reinstatement ... "

That makes me think that they (Facebook) thinks you may have violated their terms of usage.

Of course, if your account was hacked, it could have been the person that hacked your account that violated the terms.

Unfortunately, I think Mary is right. Nothing to do but file for a review and wait. Maybe the review process is just slower than usual, rather than non-existent.

Well my Facebook page magically reappeared 24 hours after it was suspended! I still have no idea what happened but I am glad its back!!!

Richard from what I know if their account was truly disabled by Facebook then they will see a disabled message when trying to log in so pretty sure if it was hacked she wouldn't see that message. If hacked it just gets taken over and email changed so you can't log in, but anything is possible. Maybe it got flagged in error or maybe someone took offense to rhubarb pie. Please update if face book gives the account back. Mary

Great. If you filled out all the paperwork they probably investigated and saw nothing of violation there or it was simply an error. My eBay got hacked at 1am the other day. Called immediately and they got my control back. Made my password much stronger and enabled 2 step verification and so far so good. Thankfully nothing was charged. Changed my PayPal password too.
