What do I do about gummy paint on cabinet doors??

I'm in the process of painting my kitchen cabinet doors. I did two coats on the backs and now I'm going on my second coat on the fronts. I'm spraying the paint on and on 2 of the doors I must have oversprayed on the sides and as they laid flat the paint kind of built up around the edges, so it's a thicker layer, so when I was sanding between coats (using 0000 steel wool) the steel wool actually stuck to that part, and when I touch it, it's "gummy". Do I just wait another day or two to let the excess dry more, then continue on?
Also on one of these same doors there are drips on the back, from the first coat I sprayed on the front. Since I wasn't planning on doing another coat on the back (so I don't want to sand them off) what can I do about these drips?
