Comments (1)You're getting permits for the rebuild. Ralk to your building department about getting your permits to include the old unpermitted space. It'll become permitted. You need to post something readable and larger....See MorePlease Help with Kitchen Design and Cabinet Layout
Comments (5)@AnnKH @Rawketgrl@herbflavor Thanks so much for your responses. @AnnKH It is a new construction. Here is the snippet of the plan showing the layout of the floor ( right side is family room, left is dining room, the door in the middle is a pantry). In the pictures I shared, the KD has moved the REF to the left of the stove than what's shown here. Yes, we do have 9' ceilings. The crown moldings have been included by the KD in the first drafft, but we can change that to something simple. @Rawketgrl Thanks for that link, very helpful. At this point, we can make some modifications to the layout but not a lot though. House framing will start next week. Great idea to make the aisle 48' on the stove side. @herbflavor thanks much. We were also thinking of a small L at the end and perhaps the REF can go there? We do have a walk in pantry in the plan....See MoreHelp for kitchen design . backsplash for white quartz countertop
Comments (2)Can you bring the cabinet, countertop, and tile samples home to see them in your kitchen’s lighting? You might want to wait until the cabinets and the countertops are installed first and then bring tile samples home. That is actually the best way to choose. When I was picking out my backsplash, I would bring home tile samples and then look at them throughout the day in natural light and at night with the lights on. I ruled out a number of choices that I thought for sure were absolutely going to be ”the one” while in the tile shop. Once in my kitchen‘s light they looked horrible, like a totally different color sometimes. Btw, I love your wood cabinet choice. Beautiful!...See MoreHelp with kitchen design!!
Comments (2)Take your sample door to a slab yard to see what looks good with it. Do you already have a preference for a particular type of surface - quartz, quartzite, granite, marble? If not, you will have to look into their plusses and minuses and decide which is right for you. You can find opinions pro and con for all of them. After the counter is installed, bring home tile samples. Before you get to that point you can look at kitchen pictures on Houzz to see which shape and layout of tile appeals to you. Repost or update your post with pictures when you're further along if you still need help. But remember you can use your kitchen without a backsplash, so no need to rush into that decision. It's not unusual to take a couple months to decide on that after everything else is done. There are plenty of tales of regret on this forum from people who rushed it. Paint comes last. Is there some reason you couldn't have a different wall color if Aesthetic White ended up not working with what you choose for counter and backsplash? There are hundreds of paint colors - don't back yourself into a corner by choosing the paint color first. IMO you can't go wrong with Pure White trim....See More- 4 years ago
